The worldwide phenomenon continues as Eva and Gideon face the demons of their pasts and accept the consequences of their obsessive desires.... From the moment I first met Gideon Cross, I recognized something in him that I needed. Something I couldn’t resist. I also saw the dangerous and damaged soul inside - so much like my own. I was drawn to it. I needed him as surely as I needed my heart to beat. No one knows how much he risked for me. How much I’d been threatened, or just how dark and desperate the shadow of our pasts would become.

I am a huge fan of Sylvain Reynard and this book does not disappoint. I was drawn in at once. The love story is sweet and swoon worthy. The intrigue and suspense is a nail biting page turner! Twice I found myself punching the air for the good guys. I just love this story and would recommend it highly.

I loved it. I still feel like there should be more to their story. I hope Sylvain will give us more of William and Raven's story. My emotions were ALL over the place. I'll definitely listen again. I gave an earlier bad review of the narrator at which I am correcting now. I recently very sadly found out that John Michael Morgan, the previous narrator of the Gabriel's Inferno and The Florentine series had passed away before he could narrate The Roman. I unfairly gave Robertson Dean a bad review simply because he wasn't John Morgan. As I relistened, I began to enjoy listening to him without the irritation I had before. I realized I'd been very unfair.

How can anyone write about a kiss and make you feel it down to your toes, to make your heart jump and speed with wreckless abandon like it's your first kiss? Sylvain Reynard paints Julia and Gabriel's kisses like an artist would in the most precious and passionate way. I can feel the yearning and the ache they have for each other throughout the entire story. I can't tell you how long it's been since I've read such a sensual book. It's all in the kisses. I can't imagine anyone but John Morgan narrating this book. He ownes Gabriel Emerson. I hear his voice in my dreams.
