Jake Sullivan is a licensed private eye with a seriously hardboiled attitude. He also possesses raw magical talent and the ability to make objects in his vicinity light as a feather or as heavy as depleted uranium, all with a magical thought. It's no wonder the G-men turn to Jake when they need someoneto go after a suspected killer who has been knocking off banks in a magic-enhanced crime spree.

Who was your favorite character and why?

Sullivan, how can you not like a guy who doesn't give up! The german was pretty well written as well.

What about Bronson Pinchot’s performance did you like?

I really hope that Bronson Pinchot will come back for the rest of the series as well, his voice and range really helped create each character in your head while listening, he did a great job for a great book!

Any additional comments?

Looking forward to the rest of the series!

Any additional comments?

I enjoyed the story and the imagery the author gave describing these two separate but coexisting populations, however the narration was simply monotone, and for the main character her voice was perfect, however you get lost in some of the back and forth conversations between two (or more) people when Samantha is reading it, as there is simply zero fluctuation between them. For this fact alone I'll probably pass on the series for now.

What did you like best about this story?

I love the modern ideas and present day feel of this book.

It held a good pace and wasn't to much of a "Hard" sci-fi, but at the same time it still managed to include multiple space ships and robots! A very tight line to hold, and pulled off masterfully!

I also loved how it's a constant crescendo that goes right into the next book that I can't wait to start listening to!

Thousands of autonomous computer programs, or daemons, make our networked world possible, running constantly in the background of our lives, trafficking e-mail, transferring money, and monitoring power grids. For the most part, daemons are benign, but the same can't always be said for the people who design them.

Even more rare when I leave a review, however this book has really caught me wanting the next book like I've very rarely experienced.

A very realistic possibility even with today's technology really lets you become emerged into this book and characters quickly.

I would HIGHLY Recommend this and the second book to anyone looking for a good read, scifi or not!
