I was surprised all the way through to the end. The performance was enjoyable, easy to listen to. The main character was very easy to relate to. I love suspense, this definitely delivered.

With indifferent parents, Iona Sheehan grew up craving devotion and acceptance. From her maternal grandmother, she learned where to find both: a land of lush forests, dazzling lakes, and centuries-old legends. Ireland. County Mayo, to be exact. Where her ancestors’ blood and magic have flowed through generations - and where her destiny awaits.

I like reading books about witches. The last trilogy I read was "The Discovery of Witches". This one is comparable and did not disappoint. I found myself staying up very late, extending the sleep timer multiple times. I purchased books 2 and 3 so I can listen to the trilogy without interruption. Book 2 is performed by a different reader. I am anxious to set the sleep timer and stay awake! I am sure it will be as good as the first. I feel like I know the characters and enjoy their.company!

What would have made Fifty Shades of Grey better?

The narration is the worst I have ever heard. It's actually annoying.

What do you think your next listen will be?

I won't be listening for a while, think I'll go back to reading.

How could the performance have been better?

A different narrator would help. This is so amateur.

What reaction did this book spark in you? Anger, sadness, disappointment?

Disappointment, can't finish this one it is terrible.

Any additional comments?

I should have read the reviews, I never would have bought this based on the majority of the comments. I will definitely read reviews before I purchase any audio book again.
