Set apart by her ethereal beauty and fearless demeanor, Ophelia Killoran has always been a mystery to those around her - and a woman they underestimated. No one would guess that she spends her nights protecting the street urchins of St. Giles. Ophelia knows what horrors these children face. As a young girl, she faced those horrors herself, and she would have died…if not for the orphan boy who saved her life.

I loved this story, a great plot. Make sure you have some tissues handy. This has one of the most fantastic, emotionally gripping scenes I have read. I got this in audio, the accent of the narrator really adds to the book.

Jake McKallister might have been a rock star, but he was no ordinary one. Surviving an unspeakable crime as a young teen had shaped him into a guarded workaholic, and he now lived his life trying to forget. If it hadn't been for music and the redemption he found through it, he might not have survived. Career success came easily for him. Personal connections did not.

Stirling Gradsky abandoned the corporate rat race for a more laidback lifestyle. So it's ironic she's stuck working with a hard-bodied, know-it-all scientist who treats her like a stoner instead of a stone cold business woman capable of running a large-scale cannabis operation. Dr. Hot and Tattooed with the big...brain needs to stop sampling their product; he's under the half-baked idea that he's the boss.

Roundhouse Publishing editor Kate C. Leever’s first letter to her newest legacy author was intended to impress upon him the growing demand for his “vampire romances.” Though he’d expressed little to no desire for publicity, book tours or the like, it was clear that this was a writer waiting to be broken out. Correspondence with Mr. Lucern Aregeneau tended to be oddly delayed, but this time his response was quick and succinct.

I really enjoyed this story it was funny and light, however the narrater was terrible, his falsetto for the female parts, just unbelievably amateurish. The audible is expensive and to have it botched like he did is very disappointing. I will have to try reading the rest of them if Jeffrey Cummings is the reader. The 1st ones were read by Women and not to bad. It is a shame I do enjoy an audible book

This was a pretty good story. However the Narrator was terrible, she made the male sound like a crotchety old man and the female sound like a silly teen. I did finish this story, but was tempted to read it instead of listening to it. I took note of the readers name and will avoid anything she does.
