I was sooo excited to listen to this book because of the great reviews, especially about the ending. I have to admit it was a big let down. I struggled to get through it but I pushed myself, telling myself the ending was going to be the pay off. Not so much.

You can judge for yourself, but I was highly disappointed with everything this book had to offer.

What made the experience of listening to White Is the Coldest Colour the most enjoyable?

This book is one of the best books I've listened to. I reviewed it on goodreads because I received a free copy via Audiobook Boom but I figured I should review it here too.

Forget about the topic, and the premise, yes it was a disturbing topic but the book and story itself was great and I couldn't stop listening. Jack Nicholl is quickly becoming one of my favorite authors and with good reason.

Jake Urry is amazing, he always does such a great job with these physiological thrillers! He's so good at transporting you right into the story.

This is a must listen!

I really wanted to like this book and it did start out promising, however further into the start it became very predictable and strange. I wasn't a fan of the characters, I wasn't buying anything they were trying to relay. I got through it, but I wasn't thrilled about the ending either.

This is one you'll have to judge for yourself...

Would you listen to The Girl Before again? Why?

I was pleasantly surprised by how much I enjoyed this book, it was definitely up my alley. Yes, the subject was rough but it was well written and the story kept me engaged. The narration was very good, one thing I appreciate is a believable narrator. I like to feel like the narrator is actually the character and Brittany Pressley did just that. I really believed she was Clara, or Diana ;) Such a good listen! not the next gone girl, but still worth listening to.

Emma didn't know how long he hid, silent and unmoving, in the large Victorian wardrobe to the side of her single bed. She didn't know how long he peered out, salivating and drooling, between the two heavy dark oak doors, and watched, mesmerized, as she slowly drifted into fitful sleep. She didn't know what time he pushed the doors open and crept towards her in the drab grey darkness of the night.

"This audiobook was given by the author, narrator, or publisher at no cost in exchange for an unbiased review via Audiobook Boom."

John Nicholl has the ability to pull you into a story within the first 5 minutes and I highly appreciate that!

I could not stop listening to this book, it was riveting and held my attention the whole way through. The story was disturbingly entertaining, I enjoy psychological thrillers immensely and this one indeed delivered! I'm truly a FAN! especially after listening to his other books, that were also great.

About the narrator.. I've said it before and I'll say it again, Jake Urry is extremely talented and I cannot get enough of his voice! he brings the book to life, he can transport you right into the scene with his voice alone. He's definitely my all time favorite narrator for these types of books!

Must listen! you won't be able to stop, and you wont' want to.

He has staunch principles, strict routines, and a short fuse. People call him "the bitter neighbor from hell". But behind the cranky exterior there is a story and a sadness.
