Golden Globe nominee Scarlett Johansson ( Lost in Translation, Girl with a Pearl Earring) brings a palpable sense of joy and exuberance to her performance of Lewis Carroll's enduring classic Alice's Adventures in Wonderland. The young and imaginative Alice grows weary of her storybook, one "without pictures or conversations", and follows a hasty hare underground - to come face to face with a host of strange and fantastic characters.

I'm only getting the sequel if Johansson narrates.

Such a fantastic, classic story really deserves Johansson's wonderful narration. Her voice was honest, gentle, curious, and encompassed everything Alice is meant to be. I laughed out loud when I listened to her transform into the Cheshire Cat, and I'm waiting for Johansson to narrate Alice's next adventure, because it's the only one I'll listen to. All I can say about the story is that it earns every ounce of its praise, hype, and cultural influence, and annihilates every film and theatrical adaptation. If you want to experience Carroll's incredibly entertaining story, look no further.

Between his work on the 2014 Audible Audiobook of the Year, Hamlet, Prince of Denmark: A Novel, and his performance of Classic Love Poems, narrator Richard Armitage ( The Hobbit, Hannibal) has quickly become a listener favorite. Now, in this defining performance of Charles Dickens' classic David Copperfield, Armitage lends his unique voice and interpretation, truly inhabiting each character and bringing real energy to the life of one of Dickens' most famous characters.

This is the definitive narration of David Copperfield. Richard Armitage gives each character more than a voice--he introduces readers to their identities. This wasn't my first forage into Dickens, and it won't be my last; and it certainly won't be my last Armitage audiobook. Thirty-six hours may seem daunting, but they fly by thanks to a classic and deserving story, and one of the best performers Audible has managed to engage. Armitage has made this novel one of my favorite books. If, for some reason, you're struggling to decide whether or not to buy this book, stop thinking, and just click 'Add to Cart'.
