This is an enjoyable, short read. This prequel provides a good introduction to the characters and world-building while offering a complete story. The narration enhanced the story, well-paced with well-defined character voices. With an engaging story and solid narration, I'm left wanting more Devcalion... And luckily, the next title is already out. I received a free copy in exchange for an honest, unbiased review.

This is the second in the series and part of a broader collection of stories. I haven't read other entries in the multiverse and don't feel as though I was missing anything. However, I do recommend listening to book 1 of the Ghost Squadron series, as this book builds on the first.

This was a fun, enjoyable book. We get more background on our crew and meet a few more members, and I'm liking how the team is slowly coming together. We get more action in this story, with skirmishes and and some tense moments as we watch things unfold.

The narration is getting better although I would like a more diverse range of male voices. But with a n ensemble cast, and a growing number of characters, the narrator does pretty well overall. This is well worth a listen and I'm off to grab the third audiobook soon.

This is a sweet, short story about coming home to a second chance at love. It is a story of realizing that what you most want is something you had but let slip away. Five years ago, Kier ended his relationship with Dougie, leaving home rather than accept the depth of his feelings. We get to see the past through the characters memories and the present, as they try to reconnect. For its length, this story is very good. But I think it would've benefited from being longer, allowing for a little more depth between the characters in the present.

As for the narration, Gary Furlong did a great job. His accents helped immerse me in the setting without overwhelming the actual story. He adds emotional weight to the characters, especially Kier's longing. And he helped amp up the kinky, sexy times. Overall, another great narration. I received a copy of the audiobook in exchange for an honest review.

A smashing, award-winning debut novel that introduces Charley Davidson: part-time private investigator and full-time Grim Reaper. Charley sees dead people. That’s right, she sees dead people. And it’s her job to convince them to “go into the light”. But when these very dead people have died under less than ideal circumstances (i.e. murder), sometimes they want Charley to bring the bad guys to justice. Complicating matters are the intensely hot dreams she’s been having about an Entity who has been following her all her life...and it turns out he might not be dead after all.

As the first in the series, I enjoyed this quite a bit. I feel it was definitely worth my time, and a hoarded credit! Charley is a fun, sarcastic, quirky main character. And Reyes... whoo boy! It is an interesting take on the paranormal and Charley's job sets up for an ongoing series. I did feel the mystery/plot sometimes took a backseat to the banter or that situations were over-exaggerated for comedic effect. But overall, in my opinion, this author's writing is good and the cast of characters are colorful. The narrator did well, even with male voices. Overall, this was a fun and enjoyable listen and I quickly went looking for book #2!

Isobel Starling shows us there can be beauty in the rough, broken pieces... But they can cut too. I give the story a solid 3 1/2 stars and enjoyed it! It was well-written with flawed characters that sometimes stalled but ultimately grow not only as a couple but as individuals. I will admit, I warmed more to Simeon than Bastian mostly because of Bastian's actions early on. But as they come together, they felt stronger together and just... fit. There is plenty of angst in the story, but it is tempered by moments of love and caring not just romantically but through friendship as well (Pieter!). While I haven't read book one, the author gave enough backstory that I never felt lost or as though I was missing something.

Gary Furlong's narration was great. He excels at accents and the European characters in this story give him room to shine. I had no trouble distinguishing between characters. The emotions he gave to each character helped immerse me in the story. There was one moment where he narrates with this catch in his voice that just about broke my heart.

This is well worth a read/listen!

So I heard Pride and Prejudice and just had to snap this up! This is a collection of moments in time, told from Darcy's perspective. I really enjoyed this imagining of Darcy's private thoughts. What keeps this from being great, in my opinion, is that there was no actual interaction with Elizabeth. I think the story would have benefited from being spun out longer. But it was still enjoyable. And by the end, it really heated up! That final scene, in this narrator's voice... Yummy!

This narrator is new to me and wow, did I enjoy that accent... I think the narrator elevated the story as I doubt I'd have liked it as well, had I read it. I did take it down a star because sometimes the pacing felt a little off (the pauses) but still very good! I'll be looking for more from this narrator. Sam and Declan charmed the socks.off me! 😀 I liked how they began over email and were able to build something real. We get to see both MCs grow, not just within their relationship but as individuals as well. That matters to me, as it helps me connect with the characters and I certainly did here. Add in quirky fun times and Princess Bride references, how could I not love this?!? And the ending surprised me and left me looking for book 2...

Gary Furlong did a great job, even with the multiple POVs. It would have been easy for him to go overboard with the accents but he has just the right touch. I've always enjoyed his playful and comedic timing, which he does well here. But he also has a deft touch in the more serious times. Really well done and I'm glad to see he narrates the rest of the series, as now I can't imagine anyone else for Sam and Declan. It only seemed to make sense... right up until the point a vampire called him in to take care of his human pup. I haven't read book 1 and if I had it might have made the first part of this story better for me. I had trouble diving in to the already established relationship between Liam and Caleb. I didn't feel the connection and it skirted DubCon for me. Once Zain joined them and the dynamic shifted, the story and pacing picked up for me. And the heat level really rose at that point!

The narration was pretty well done. The sexy scenes were hot and unrushed. The pacing and character voices were good although I felt like Zain needed a bit more gravel to him. Not sure that makes sense... Overall, I liked this and I've surprised myself a bit by that! I was given this free review copy audiobook at my request and have voluntarily left this review.

I enjoyed this story, especially as the first in the series. This is a quick read/ listen and so the movement from attraction to commitment is quick. But it didn't feel under-developed like some stories in this trope. I would have liked a little more time spent on the final conflict but the romance was sweet. The narration was pretty well done. The narrator did a good job with both the female and male parts.
