I'd never read this old classic story. But with it being a free book, I decided to do so. The overblown drama, coupled with the dramatic performance was a bit much for me. But for its time, & given the author's poor health, I do appreciate the imaginative storytelling.

As with other of Ms. Picoult's books I've read, this one brings her creative powers of story-telling to bear on a well-researched issue. In this case it's abortion.

The story was unusual & filled with great creativity. My only complaint was that the voice of Elsa, a 7 year-old girl, was harsh & unpleasant. I would suggest another person read Elsa's dialogue.

Not exactly 'entertaining'. Subject matter was unpleasant to a large extent. Readers were fine, but not as good as some.

Narrator was great. Story somewhat annoying while the 2 sisters kept being "unable " to say what they wanted to their men.
