For David Goggins, childhood was a nightmare - poverty, prejudice, and physical abuse colored his days and haunted his nights. But through self-discipline, mental toughness, and hard work, Goggins transformed himself from a depressed, overweight young man with no future into a US Armed Forces icon and one of the world's top endurance athletes. The only man in history to complete elite training as a Navy SEAL, Army Ranger, and Air Force Tactical Air Controller, he went on to set records in numerous endurance events.

I don’t even know where to begin… Most books slowly introduce the character, then reaches the peak. Plot thickens, then it winds down. This book hits the ground running… starts at the extreme top & stays there all the way through the whole thing! It never lets you down. Emotions run high the whole time. Then it finishes and you’re just shaking your head thinking, OMGosh...I need to read this again!!!

Excellent read! It took me a minute but then I was enamored by Carl and the story he had to tell. I found myself white knuckles, gasping and cheering.

This book was full of all sorts of twists and turns. I laughed, teared up, couldn’t wait to find out what happens next. Just when I thought things were resolved, new things came up! Amazing book, I hope it goes to the cinema.

This book has opened my mind, heart and eyes to how sheltered I have been my whole life. Some of the things John has gone through, I relate to. Knowing that whatever storm one is facing....there is always hope for those who seek it. Nothing comes without a price. Sometimes the price is small, sometimes great, but in the end, one can evolve into their full potential and change the world in a positive way.
