Dating is hard. Dating in your 30s is even harder. Dating in Chicago is harder still. I haven't given up on finding my happily-ever-after, but in the age of swiping right and Netflix and chill, I'm wondering if everything is as temporary as my marriage turned out to be. Truth is, there is one guy I can't get my mind off of. Roarke Baldwin has salt and pepper hair I've dreamed of running my hands through, and I'm pretty sure that if I checked, he really does have a six-pack of abs underneath his suit.

Happy Hour is the third book in the Charity Case series and is Hannah and Roarke's story. Roarke is a "silver fox" who represented Hannah's ex in their divorce. Hannah says she hates Roarke but feels drawn to him whenever he comes in a room. I like this story of love/hate and how Roarke tries to win Hannah over with 5 favors to get her to know the real him. Piper Rayne has written another great story. I read the book but with the narration it just brings it to life for me. I can't wait for the next series that was previewed at the end of the book.

When Matt needs his reputation fixed, their mutual friends suggest Sabrina. They pretend to be a couple and then it starts getting real - at least for one of them. Then the other realizes that it's real for them. Now to convince each other. I really like how Lauren Layne is able to weave storylines together to make me feel so emotional. The narration by Samantha Cook and Zachary Webber was perfect.

Luca shows up and they get along great until she gets cold feet and runs out on him. Then she shows up for a class in Russian Literature and guess who is her professor - Luca! Anna is 10 years younger than Luca and he has some family problems to work out. Anna is insecure and thinks there's a school policy against dating professors. I loved the way Penny Reid is able to bring real life to the story. The dialogue is funny and brought to life by the wonderful narration of Fiona Fischer and Stephen Dexter.

I really enjoyed this short story that has a lot packed into it. Rachelle does a wonderful job with this story. Ebony Cruse is a romance writer who is having trouble with a story line and is on a deadline and feels like she can't take time out to go to the Christmas dance with Blaze, who was almost her step-brother. Their parents never married because her mother died of a heart attack before the wedding. Even though they were close at home, Ebony and Blaze weren't in the same group at school. Kids made fun of Ebony and Blaze didn't stand up for her even though he wanted to. They both had crushes on each other. Now this Christmas, Blaze was determined to let Ebony know how he feels about her. I thought it was interesting seeing how an author's characters took over the story line even though it wasn't how Ebony wanted the story to go. Ebony's mother was always putting her work ahead of family and Ebony has started to do the same thing. She has a Christmas Carol "dream" showing her the future. When she wakes up, she finds she still has time to make things right with Blaze before he deploys again. I liked the narration by Trei Taylor. I haven't ever heard her before and am looking forward to hearing more from her.

Kate has determined that she is meant to be in the same time as her sister to help defeat Machara. After Kate is in Scotland, she meets Maddock. Maddock falls in love but the road isn't easy since Kate has emotional problems from the fire. As Kate realizes that she's one of the reasons that Machara can be defeated, she becomes stronger and overcomes some of her problems. I love the progression of Kate's belief in herself. Bethany Claire always writes great story lines and this is definitely the best so far. I can't wait for the next one. Lily Collingwood really brings the story to life with her narration.

I have one type. Bad Boy. I tried the other flavors, I really did. But there's nothing like the allure of a man who takes what he wants without apology. As if my love life isn't dramatic enough, Dean Bennett walks into my life again thinking he's going to win me back with his charm and charisma. He might come in a different package, but under that expensive suit he's still the same cocky, arrogant, pompous prick who only cares about numero uno. I'm not that naïve young girl anymore so I have to ignore the fact that the way he looks at me practically sets my panties on fire.

Afternoon Delight is the second book in the Charity Case series. Piper Rayne just keeps the incredible books coming. This is a second chance story about Chelsea and Dean. They were young and newly married when Dean got hurt and lost his chance at a baseball career. He didn't take it well and drank a lot and ignored Chelsea. There were a lot of misunderstandings since they were young and didn't know how to handle everything. Forward five years and Dean is the pro bono tax attorney for RISE the company that Chelsea is now working for. Dean is now trying to show Chelsea that he's changed and is ready to try their relationship again. She's very wary of letting herself love him again. They have a real chemistry and that's not the problem. Chelsea has to learn to forgive Dean and believe that he's changed. Everything happens for a reason and at the right time. This is such a wonderful story and I listened to it in two days! I enjoyed seeing characters from previous series and knowing how they've progressed with their relationships.I enjoyed Kylie Stewart's narration of the book. She brought the characters to life for me.

This is by far the best Quantum novel yet. I loved Leah and Emmett! Leah had a crush on Emmett from the first time she saw him . She found reasons to go see him for "legal" questions at Quantum where she's an admin and he's the company lawyer. He saw through that but an accident put them together for a day or so and he found that she was irresistible even though he thought she was too young for him. Seems that attraction doesn't respect age. Some of the situations and banter in this book had me laughing or trying not to when I was around people. Leah and Emmett are one of my favorite couples. I can't wait for the next book for Marlowe to find her love. It was nice to catch up with the rest of the couples and see how they are one big family. The bonus story at the end was an unexpected pleasure. Marie Force sure has the talent for bringing the characters to life. Maxine Mitchell and Aiden Snow narrate the story wonderfully and bring another dimension to the characters.

She reads novels I'll never understand, and yet we just click. There's no one I'd rather share breakfast burritos with or binge watch hours of Netflix with. She's my person. And so when she takes off her glasses and asks me to help her improve her skills in the bedroom, I barely have to think about it. Of course I'll help her. I really liked Slate and that he declared his love for Keaton first. Then comes the sticky part of trying to get past the friends with benefits.
