Great story and excellent performance. The end was a little disappointing but still worth the read!

I may try this again at some point but for now it just didn’t keep my attention. Very slow start. I really like the First Lady so I was excited to get this. It might be amazing further in but I couldn’t get past the first half of the book.

Anna Fox lives alone - a recluse in her New York City home, unable to venture outside. She spends her day drinking wine (maybe too much), watching old movies, recalling happier times...and spying on her neighbors. Then the Russells move into the house across the way: a father, mother, their teenaged son. The perfect family. But when Anna, gazing out her window one night, sees something she shouldn't, her world begins to crumble. And its shocking secrets are laid bare.

Suspense? Thriller? Ugh! Nope. Over half way through the book before there was even a hint of suspense. I’ll finish it but it’s painful.

The Bram Stoker award-winning author of A Head Full of Ghosts adds an inventive twist to the home invasion horror story in a heart-palpitating novel of psychological suspense that recalls Stephen King’s Misery, Ruth Ware’s In a Dark, Dark Wood, and Jack Ketchum’s cult hit The Girl Next Door. Seven-year-old Wen and her parents, Eric and Andrew, are vacationing at a remote cabin on a quiet New Hampshire lake. Their closest neighbors are more than two miles in either direction along a rutted dirt road.

Horrible!! So anti-climatic I didn’t realize it was over! And the narrators voice for the men was painful to listen too. The story was as flat and boring as her voice.
