Repressed scholar Percival Endicott Whyborne has two skills: reading dead languages and hiding in his office at the Ladysmith Museum. After the tragic death of the friend he secretly loved, he's ruthlessly suppressed any desire for another man. So when handsome ex-Pinkerton Griffin Flaherty approaches him to translate a mysterious book, Whyborne wants to finish the job and get rid of the detective as quickly as possible. Griffin left the Pinkertons following the death of his partner, hoping to start a new life. But the powerful cult that murdered Glenn has taken root in Widdershins, and only the spells in the book can stop them.

Jordan L. Hawk creates a unique world full of magic, mystery, and romance that is well worth the listen. A community that brings together unlikely partnerships with a central focus given to a collection of people who choose to create family based on love, friendship, and trust - accepting of straight and gay relationships.

In the beginning of the first book, I found myself intrigued but hesitant due to what I considered a shaky performance by the narrator. By the end, I found myself really wanting to know what adventures this quirky band of characters would find themselves in next. The character development is very good and by the second full book the narrator seems to find his legs and begins to deliver a strong performance as well.

I am completely eager for the next installment! Not my normal fare, but completely enjoyable!

We're here, then we're gone, and that was true before they came. That's always been true. The Others didn't invent death; they just perfected it. Gave death a face to put back in our face, because they knew that was the only way to crush us. It won't end on any continent or ocean, no mountain or plain, jungle or desert. It will end where it began, where it had been from the beginning: on the battlefield of the last beating human heart.

Ridley Duchannes is nobody's heroine. She's a Dark Caster, a Siren. She can make you do things. Anything. You can't trust her, or yourself when she's around. And she'll be the first to tell you to stay away - especially if you're going to do something as stupid as fall in love with her. Lucky for Ridley, her wannabe rocker boyfriend, Wesley "Link" Lincoln, never listens to anyone.

Would you consider the audio edition of Dangerous Creatures to be better than the print version?

Any additional comments?

With this ending, the writers better be writing the next book very, very quickly!

This book is fun, imaginative, and pretty unique. It does a good job of both bringing closure to the first 3 books in the series and leaves you wanting for more!

What made the experience of listening to The Dragon's Eye the most enjoyable?

I know that these books are supposed to be for children - but I have to admit, that I really enjoyed them. If you're "above the intended age group" -- you'll soon find that you are whisked back to your childhood!
