There's something achingly familiar about Daniel Grigori. Mysterious and aloof, he captures Luce Price's attention from the moment she sees him on her first day at the Sword & Cross boarding school in sultry Savannah, Georgia. He's the one bright spot in a place where cell phones are forbidden, the other students are all screw-ups, and security cameras watch every move.

The story is good it just takes a while to get to the good parts. I just hope the second book is a little more exciting.

Welcome to Derry, Maine. It's a small city, a place as hauntingly familiar as your own hometown. Only in Derry the haunting is real. They were seven teenagers when they first stumbled upon the horror. Now they are grown-up men and women who have gone out into the big world to gain success and happiness. But the promise they made 28 years ago calls them to reunite in the same place where, as teenagers, they battled an evil creature that preyed on the city's children.

Stephen King is definitely a good author. However, it takes too long to get to know the characters. He builds too much into the intro of the story to finally engage in a little piece of the main story. You have to know something about the novel to listen to it. The story has it's moments but I can actually say It been in many occasions, willing to put this book down and never read it again. I just feel like the introduction of this book is now eight chapters long and I have not seen the monster yet.

It takes a while to pick up the story. But is worth the wait. It has a good plot and the author got me, at the end with 'why lie'. Very good hook for the next book.
