The previous books were fabulous, the narrator was wonderful. I couldn't put the boom down.
I was so looking forward to this book. I just can't get into this one due to narrator. He does not deliver. Chopra sounds like a stodgy old Englishman. It ruins the book.

Wow! What a great listen! This story kept me interested from start to finish. The characters are engaging and very well developed. I cared about them, felt their anguish and joy. Was frustrated by decisions they made when I knew it was the wrong one. The narration was excellent.
I was sad when the story ended, I wanted more...

A resident of one of LA's toughest neighborhoods uses his blistering intellect to solve the crimes the LAPD ignores. East Long Beach. The LAPD is barely keeping up with the neighborhood's high crime rate. Murders go unsolved, lost children unrecovered. But someone from the neighborhood has taken it upon himself to help solve the cases the police can't or won't touch. They call him IQ. He's a loner and a high school dropout, his unassuming nature disguising a relentless determination and a fierce intelligence.

Biggest disappointment was the fact the book ended! I certainly hope there is another book or a series!

I'm nearly through this book but it has been painful. The narrator is awful and IMHO I think it has ruined the listen for me. I will probably have to read the hard copy because I keep tuning out the book because I dislike the narrator. I'm sure the boom is probably better than I think, I just think the narrator makes it seem worse.

I didn't care for the narrator. The story was predictable and drawn out. Again, I'm glad I didn't pay full price. Don't waste your time on this book.

On the right side of the law. Sort of. Sebastian Rudd is not your typical street lawyer. He works out of a customized bulletproof van, complete with Wi-Fi, a bar, a small fridge, fine leather chairs, a hidden gun compartment, and a heavily armed driver. He has no firm, no partners, no associates, and only one employee: his driver, who's also his bodyguard, law clerk, confidant, and golf caddy.

I was pleasantly surprised by this novel. It was a bit different from what I expected and at times I had to remind myself this was Grisham not Michael Connely.
Sebastian Rudd is an interesting character and reminded me a lot of Connely's Mickey Haller.

In true Grisham style, Rudd shows us the underbelly of the judicial system. The deals that are made behind closed doors and leaves the reader feeling as if they are merely a puppet in the hands of lawyers, judges and the government.
I'd like to see another Rudd book.
