Struggled to finish this book. I liked it, but think about 50 pages could have been edited out.

I didn't care for this story. I found it too drawn out and tedious. There was so much going on about so many different people, that it was hard to remember this was a murder case, and not some girl's ramblings in a diary.

The narrator's tone, though lovely, I don't think had enough variance. The characters didn't stand out. Between that and the dullness of the story, I nearly missed the who done it reveal and motives. It was just another sentence in a book full of too many sentences.

I gave it two stars because although I didn't like this particular tale, I like the Charlotte Holmes character. And as previously stated, the narrator had a lovely voice.

This book had great characters and a story that unfolded beautifully. I was carried along like I was in a river. First gentle and intriguing, then the rapids came out of no where. The journey had several jaw dropping and heart pounding moments, but I loved every minute of it. What aride! This made my favorite books list!

I'm guessing young author with limited experience. This could have been a 10th grade creative writing assignment.

Narration was also bad. No variation in characters or gender. And she pronounced "ask/s" as "ax". Drove me crazy.

I didn't like it being narrated by a British accent. The story is set in America. The characters are all American. It should have been narrated by an American. For the most part I could ignore it, but the different pronunciation of certain words broke the enchantment for me.

I also took issue with recklessness the protagonist went about doing her job. It didn't ring true for me, especially after her so recent "ordeal". One minute she's a bad ass, then she's breaking down. Her partner and boss letting her continue to work when she was so obviously out of control just didn't seem like the no nonsense FBI we all know and love.

This could have been really good, the main character just needs a little work to be believable. Will I read the next one? Probably, because I want to know about the pebbles, and I like the author's style of writing. The story moves really well, there's good suspense and motif is hidden until the very end.

What a great listen. I liked book 1, but found this one even better. It is exciting, suspenseful, funny and imaginative. Downloading book 3 now.

I found one inconsistency, but it doesn't take away from the story. In book 1, Ringo is 14, and then in this one, (set a few months later), he is 16. it's minor, but annoying.

It took me a couple of chapters to adjust to the change in narrators, but have decided Gemma Barrett's accent suits the story.

Enjoying these books. I like all the different characters and their side stories.

I like having the two narrators, it breaks up the monotony of listening to the same voice for hours. The female narrator sounds a bit childish, especially after the rich, deep tones of the male narrator, so I don't think this was the best pairing.

Some books when they end leave you happy and fulfilled. This book left me aching and hollow, for I want more. I feel as if nothing could possibly move me like this story of love and adventure. I want to live in these pages forever.

I enjoyed the entire trilogy but by far Clockwork Princess was the best. The narration was good but I prefer the dual narration of Clockwork Prince, so only gave 4 stars for narration. It's almost unfair to go from two to one narrator because two have so many more voices and characters get "drawn" better. Like hearing Bridget sing in book two. No hearing that in three was too stark a change for me. But that's a little thing. It does not destroy the beauty of the story.

I am left exhausted, ravaged, thrilled and pained by the ending of this trilogy, wondering if I can ever love this way again.

Saw the movie and really enjoyed it, so decided to read the book and get the real story. As expected, the book is so much better. Moving on to book two in the series.
