Really love biblical historical fiction and this has been one of the best. I wish there was a sequel but am looking forward to So Shines the Night. Also very cool that we can go to her web site and see pics of the places she wrote about. Love it!

Escape the enemy's deadly trap! The Bait of Satan exposes one of the most deceptive snares Satan uses to get believers out of the will of God - offense. Most people who are ensnared by the bait of Satan don’t even realize it. Don’t be fooled! You will encounter offense, and it’s up to you how it will affect your relationship with God. Your response will determine your future. If offense is handled correctly, you will become stronger rather than bitter. John Bevere shows you how to stay free from offense and escape the victim mentality.

This is a must read for ANY Christian and especially those in ministry. I had read it before but downloaded the audible to just remind myself of these principles for a friend that I was counseling. Whoa did it knock me over and convict me so deeply. Very hard. But absolutely necessary to anyone who is honestly and passionately seeking God’s direction in their life. Wow.

Tenley Roth's first book was a runaway best seller. Now that her second book is due, she's locked in fear. Can she repeat her earlier success, or is she a fraud who has run out of inspiration? A century earlier, another woman wrote at the same desk with hopes and fears of her own. Birdie Shehorn is the daughter of the old-money Knickerbockers. Under the strict control of her mother, her every move is decided ahead of time, even whom she'll marry. Tenley and Birdie are from two very different worlds, but fate has bound them together.

Love this story so much. It took 2-3 chapters to be okay with the reader/narrator though. Too much of a southern and relaxed accent. Really hard to get past but once I did I enjoyed the story so much. I loved the weaving in with the past and present and the culmination of the story portraying such grace. A clear picture in the end of our human failings and how God weaves it all together. I loved this book and it touched me on so many levels.

Forget the gift, Drew just wants his life back. Part of that involves Sydney Carlyle, a woman he is inexplicably drawn to. When he's offered the chance to become a CIA agent, it seems the way to redeem his past. The only problem - his visions of the supernatural realm are increasing in frequency.

Much of the time I listen to more "girl" type stories- Amish and historical Christian fiction but absolutely loved how the author brought to life the intensity of the spiritual realm in these three books. It was very very good. I'd definitely recommend this to be a guy's book though -tons of warfare and guns and fighting. A man's man who doesn't usually listen to stories would like this one.
I've never listened to a story with such performance behind it either- at first I was like-- what's going on here? But I liked how the use of music came in and out but wasn't through the whole thing. And the same thing with the girl voices. I started to like having them separate.
I loved this story experience!! And the story was so good- well researched and accurate, aligning with history and God's word. Hoping to find another Chuck Black to listen to soon. But maybe not too soon- it takes over my life and I can't do anything till I get to the end- definitely pulled me along and wouldn't let me stop listening!!!

All I can say is, "Wow" - This book is incredibly insightful into the Christian life and understanding of what Christ has done for us and the purpose for our lives. SO creative - definitely had to come from direct revelation from the Holy Spirit. I listened with my 13 year old son on a long road trip and just continually sat there amazed at how it was packed with creative ways to express things. So many aspects of the Christian walk were brought out and the way you come to know what Christ did for us totally blew me away. What a great way to understand it. Being a creative person and thinker I'm not usually surprised by new ways to explain things creatively, but I sat intriged with it all. Everything included in the story was meaninful and served a purpose for understanding our "walk" better. My son really got into it as well. The battle scenes were so well done and described; the warrior in him was sparked. I will definitely look into more of this author's books and I want to get a copy for lots of people. I think it's something I will listen to again and again to refresh and refocus me. One thing though, the narrator spoke pretty fast for a audiobook, though it kind of matched the story. I had to get used to that. Compared to others it was on fast speed.
