Best-selling author Bryan Burrough recently made a shocking discovery: The small town of Temple, Texas, where he had grown up, had harbored a dark secret. One of his high school classmates, Danny Corwin, was a vicious serial killer. In this chilling tale, Burrough raises important questions of whether serial killers can be recognized before they kill or rehabilitated after they do. It is also a story of Texas politics and power that led the good citizens of the town of Temple to enable a demon who was their worst nightmare.

I liked this book. As always, it's interesting to hear how a serial killer was raised, their background and religious beliefs. The author did a great job telling this history without glorifying or demonizing Danny. The respect for the victims is clear.

My son and I often listen to stories while driving or when I'm just not feeling like reading at night. We started this book 3 days ago. My son says, at the end, "that's it!?" I asked of we should investigate the collection. To which he replied "Yes, but I hope the other books are longer". When asked how we should review this book he said: "It was good. I could see the story in my imagination." From this mom, any book that can grip onto his attention everytime we start it, is a winner. Thank you Audible for giving this tired mom some time off from "reading".

Everyone is in stasis, so they'll be safe during the trip, but when Zero's pod malfunctions it wakes him early, like 105 years early. At first he's excited to be the only one awake - he has the entire ship to himself, so he can go anywhere and see and do and eat anything he wants - but when a family of space pirates show up, trying to hijack the ship and kidnap the colonizers, Zero has to think fast and find a way to stop them all on his own.

This was my 7th book written by Richards. As always I enjoyed the story and found the content fascinating and contemplative. The depth to which Richards dives in each futuristic concept is astounding and thought-provoking. And like always, a love story is evoked and triumphs in this story. Richards books have given me a new found love of sci-fi books; one that never existed before, but couldn't have been developed at a better time, as my almost 6 year old son tells me he wants to be a Quantum physicist!

Another vision of what our future holds by the amazing Douglas E. Richards. It is astonishing the amount of research that goes into each novel and this one is no different (even being written on a folding table while in the middle of a move). This was a great read and very insightful as to what science may indeed create or refine.

Stunned, confused, and only 29 years old, Hinton knew that it was a case of mistaken identity and believed that the truth would prove his innocence and ultimately set him free. He spent his first three years on Death Row at Holman State Prison in despairing silence.
