This book was amazing. It was deep and racked real issues and how love is so much more than the superficial.

Narration was good. And there was some graphic scenes. Very intense.

This was a good listen. I loved the storyline, two best friends realizing they’ve loved each other for ever.

This story did have include some serious topic, including cutting.

I also felt like the female character got a little frustrating towards the end - being melodramatic and whiny.

Narration was good, although it took me a while to get use to them both voicing characters in every chapter. It would also get a little hard to tell if they were talking in their own head or to the other character.

Taking her is my right. Breaking her, my duty. I was always going to choose Helena. I knew it the instant I saw her. She’s different than the others. There’s a darkness about her. Something wild inside her. And it calls to the beast inside me. But she isn’t what I expected. With every word and every touch, she pushes me, burrowing deep under my skin, challenging the rules, and upending history. And all the while, I see how my brother watches her. He wants her, and as the rules stand, she’ll become his in one year’s time. Except that I have no intention of giving her up.

What an interesting duet. The conclusion to book one, this book had its own interesting focus. I was surprised that it didn’t carry on more of the willow girl theme. The focus was more on the effects of this tradition on the brothers.

Narration was excellent and I am always happy when there is a HEA.

If you’ve invested in book one, you owe it to yourself to listen to this one.

And Sebastian Scafoni makes all the rules. The moment I saw him, I knew he would choose me. Even though the mark on my sheath declared me unclean. He made me his. And then he set out to break me.

Wow. Just, wow. This story is dark. It’s like a train wreck, you want to look away, but just can’t. It’s so wrong, but isn’t that the point of fiction, to get you out of reality and your comfort zone? This story definitely has some triggers - slavery, rape, abuse, etc. It keeps you in the edge of your seat and has a good amount of mystery.

Ends in a cliffhanger, and I’m glad I can start the companion book right away.

Narration was good. Both narrators we perfect for their roles.

This book really takes you through the emotions!

Shelley Linley is sick of sickos. Yet another prankster has applied to her dating agency. This one says he’s a vampire, and he wants Shelley to help him find a wife. Meeting him for a second interview against all her better judgement, Shelley discovers that he has no clue about women. A shame because he’s super hot, amusing, and has a lot of single friends he could recommend her struggling business to, even if he does say they’re werewolves and demons.

First, I did enjoy this book. It was a quick easy listen.

That said, this story had so much potential. I loved the idea of a century-old vampire coming to a modern dating agency for help finding love. Unfortunately, the book was so short and didn’t have time to really develop the characters, their relationships, and the story line. It could have easily been twice as long. Everything happened so easy and quick.

The sound quality was obviously low-budget and had some volume issues and a hollowness to it. Within the first few minutes you could actually hear voices in the background.

A different narrator could have made this book better. She didn’t have much variation to her voice making it hard to tell who was talking when there were more than one characters in a scene. She also needed to us more inflection in her voice. She didn’t vary much when characters were excited, frightened or mad.

One last critique, the story is set in England and no one had an accent!

In the end, I did like the story so I’m glad I listened.

I was pleasantly surprised by this book. I wasn't sure what to expect, but it grabbed my attention from the very beginning. The chills started within the first few minutes, and I probably shouldn't have been listening to it in bed with the lights out.

I liked that the events in the book seemed realistic, or as realistic as a ghost story can be. The progression of each supernatural experience progressed in a good way too. It didn't go from zero to 60 right away. It was nice to build up to the conclusion.

The love story line was good too. It felt natural and not forced. That said, I typically like a little more focus on the romance, so it could have had more of that.

The narrator was excellent. I normally like duel narrators, but Kristin James did a great job changing her voice for each character.

I definitely would recommend this story to any supernatural lover.
