I live in Silicon Valley, California. 75% of people in my upscale hometown did not and could never fathom voting for Donald Trump. Don’t let the fact that the author is Tucker Carlson—who has a nightly show on Fox—scare you away. This book is nothing like what you might think. Don’t miss it.

Arranged marriages seldom happen in modern America, so Daisy Devreaux hates her father's ultimatum: marry the humorless man he has picked for her, or go to jail. It's not much of a deal for Alex Markov, the prospective groom, either. He's got no time to indulge an uptown girl. So Alex puts Daisy to work in his traveling circus, expecting the harsh realities will break her. Instead, he finds she's got heart enough for both of them.

What did you love best about Bright Line Eating?

I come from a family of obesity and compulsive overeating. Although I have never been morbidly obese and I am thin at this time, I spent way too much of my life in a brain fog and not trusting how I would feel on a given day. Dr. Peirce Thompson has put science to what I intuitively suspected for decades...that my body and mind did not respond to eating the same as "normal" people. When the author describes her life and discoveries, she provides the "why" to a lifelong agony. Interestingly, I was married to a double-Ivy educated man who was addicted to drugs and alcohol. (Education and intelligence had nothing to do with addiction disease.) I saw similarities between us in emotional unavailability. I even used to comment that I got "high" on refined carbohydrates and even excessive amounts of fruit. I would have a "hangover" the next day and have exhaustion and brain fog. If any of this sounds familiar to you, you might consider picking up this audio book. Bright Line Eating has given me a "Bright Life."

What did you like best about this story?

Profoundly well researched. It should be required reading in ALL health classes in high school and college. Many lives could be saved.

What about the narrators’s performance did you like?

I feel like I know--and trust the author.

Even having hundreds of closed cases to his credit can't keep LAPD police lieutenant Milo Sturgis from agonizing over the crimes that don't get solved - and the victims who go without justice. Victims like Katherine Hennepin, a young woman strangled and stabbed in her home. A single suspect with a solid alibi leads to a dead end - one even Alex Delaware's expert insight can't explain. The only thing to do is move on to the next murder case - because there's always a next one.
