Junior year has come for the remaining students of Melbrook Hall, and it promises to be the most difficult one yet. With one of their own gone and another under serious investigation, none of the former Powereds know how many days remain for them in the Hero Certification Program. The time they do have will be filled with more trials and classes, honing their skills as they work toward the increasingly difficult goal of becoming Heroes.

Despite having their secret revealed, the residents of Melbrook Hall return to Lander University for another year in the Hero Certification Program. Good thing the focus of this year is teamwork, because with their origins known, they'll have to lean on each other more than ever. Now finally sophomores, their curriculum expands, allowing them to train in the majors that Heroes specialize in. The new classes will test their minds, bodies, and determination in ways never anticipated.

I loved the voice actors. How ever you came across these two they were amazing. In an audiobook it can make up for bad writing or turn great writing into something terrible. Coupled with the great voices did come great writing. I really did enjoy the story and the sex scenes were amazing too. Thanks!

Laytham Ballard once protected humanity as part of the Nightwise, a secret order of modern-day mages dedicating to holding hellish supernatural forces at bay, but that was before a string of sadistic ritual murders shook everything he believed in - and sent him down a much darker path. One that has already cost him most of his soul as well as everything he once held dear.

It started off with the familiar feel of Night Vale and I enjoyed it in the beginning but as the story progressed the characters just felt less and less like they had been already developed in the series and that felt the same way with the town. It just felt changed and it ended up feeling like a more so normal town than the town I love that is Night Vale.

Knowledge is power. That would be the motto of Lander University, had it not been snatched up and used to death by others long before the school was founded. For while Lander offers a full range of courses to nearly all students, it also offers a small number of specialty classes to a very select few. Lander is home to the Hero Certification Program, a curriculum designed to develop students with superhuman capabilities, commonly known as Supers, into official Heroes.

Just a fun book. Felt like a more adult Harry Potter with Super Heroes or even a more adult Incredibles. A neat dive into the super hero realm and what it's like growing up with powers and even diving into those who have powers that don't work quite right. The difference between Supers and Powereds. Anyways, enjoy.

What happens when the haggling is done and the shops are closed? When the quest has been given, the steeds saddled, and the adventurers are off to their next encounter? They keep the world running, the food cooked, and the horses shoed, yet what adventurer has ever spared a thought or concern for the Non-Player Characters? In the town of Maplebark, four such NPCs settle in for a night of actively ignoring the adventurers drinking in the tavern when things go quickly and fatally awry.

Night Watch is a world as elaborate and imaginative as Tolkien or the best Asimov. Living among us are the "Others", an ancient race of humans with supernatural powers who swear allegiance to either the Dark or the Light. A thousand-year treaty has maintained the balance of power, but an ancient prophecy decrees that one supreme "Other" will rise up and tip the balance. When a young boy with extraordinary powers emerges, will the forces of the Light be able to keep the Dark from corrupting the boy and destroying the world?

It's rare to find a review that isn't governed by other thoughts of what a story should be like. So I'll try and talk just on what happened here. This isn't the first foreign book I've listened to. So the struggle of bringing myself to another country is gone. I don't think I would have ever gotten through this book had I read it. But the narrating was great and the story was interesting. And looking back at the completed story I really enjoyed it and look forward to getting into book two Daywatch.

I have enjoyed the podcast for a long while and was excited to learn that a book had come out. I had picked this up one before and returned it. I seemed to not be able to latch onto the story at first. But leaving the podcast and coming back I picked up the book once more and really enjoyed it. Great Night Vale adventure. Recommend to Night Vale fans and people that like the strange.
