Meg Murry, her little brother Charles Wallace, and their mother are having a midnight snack on a dark and stormy night when an unearthly stranger appears at their door. He claims to have been blown off course and goes on to tell them that there is such a thing as a "tesseract", which, if you didn't know, is a wrinkle in time. Meg's father had been experimenting with time travel when he suddenly disappeared. Will Meg, Charles Wallace, and their friend Calvin outwit the forces of evil as they search through space for their father?

I’m not one for negatively reviewing a book. If it didn’t work for me, I’d let it be. However with this one I’m confused by my displeasure. Was it the story? I read this book when I was a child and enjoyed it. So was it the performance? Performing books on tape is a difficult task and one not to be taken lightly. However the pace and character choices negates the story and made it difficult to continue reading. Does that fall on the director? I don’t know, but characters I originally thought as strong became weak and powerful characters full of intrigue became tests of patience as I waited for their lines to be complete. This is one I would say read instead of listen.
