This book was well written and I liked that it was clean of sex and foul language without being preachy. While a little smut doesn't bother me, I don't think it's necessary for a good story. The only criticism I have is of the narrator. I didn't care for her. I thought after listening to the sample that I would get used to her voice and style, but I just wanted the book to hurry up and end.

I liked the story ok and all of the main characters were well rounded. There were a couple of things in the story that didn't seem plausible, and that made it not a great book, just a good book. For one thing, the main character is a widow of a marine who's deployed for most of their marriage. The military doesn't work like that. Soldiers aren't gone almost all the time for years and years. So every time that was eluded to as a reason for his family's behavior, it just seemed that the author used that as a convenient explanation. It's probably just me. If I wasn't a military spouse, I wouldn't know or care. I just got hung up on it. The narrator was excellent.
