Alvin had a rough week. Thrown into a digital death game, Apocalypse Gates, with only his wits and a less than helpful AI handler, Alvin's prospects for survival looked bleak. Managing not only to survive but to thrive, he helped build a settlement of survivors in Green River, Utah. Along the way he met the very sexy and broken Gothy. He's taken on the undead, mutated bugs and animals and the worst possible enemy - other people - and triumphed. Nothing looked like it would be a major problem, except for the flight of dragons.

this series has so much potential. but the author completely goes off the rails with complete chapters of gratuitous sex. there's nothing wrong with it I love a sexy scene as much as the next person but let's forward the story little bit please. the reader butchers the way the characters call each other's names which turns out to be annoying and repetitive. she almost wines the word hero, and it becomes this disgusting hateful word that makes me cringe every time I hear it. it feels like halfway through the story the author decided I'm done caring about settlements I want to change the entire book and the mechanics that brought people here and create a story about two assholes driving around the wasteland. I probably won't read another one unless I want to jerk it ...so yeah good luck with this.

Thomas always enjoyed kingdom/city simulation games. When he discovers there is a kingdom building expansion to the hugely popular VRMMORPG Lewd Saga, he is determined to join the sensual fantasy game and build his destiny. Thomas becomes Edric Temple, summoner and adventurer, searching for others to help build a kingdom while a war rages across all of Lukken. Some of these authors overload you on erotic content with very little story or character development. In this book series the sexual encounters are earned and they fit well in the story. They are very well written and you feel the author's passion and telling the story along with conveying the sexual energy to the reader. The book is clearly not just about that type of content though and I would say it makes up 15% of what's inside the book. If you like literary RPGs then you will definitely enjoy this series it is well done, well articulated, and it really pulls you back for more.

do yourself a favor if you're a fan of lit RPGs pick this up. it comes off as a semi tawdry sex thing satisfying male fantasies but it's actually not that at all it's deep and well written and the author really understands the genre. listen to this book is really time well spent I can't wait for the next one. And I will definitely pick up the previous book when it comes to Audible.

this looks pretty good if you're into strange space stories you're going to like it. I did enjoy it I did not enjoy the reader that much. and it's probably not the readers fault it's probably the fault of the author and the reader together. the author has the word didn't at least in one case 7 times in one chapter. and the word confirmed is constantly repeated by the main character. this itself would not be a problem but the author is so repetitive and has such a lack of other words that it becomes this annoying thing. confirm makes sense because it's something that the protagonist says because he's a military man and sort of robotic like. but saying didn't all the time is a hang up that all the characters have because the author just doesn't know another word to use and it's annoying as hell because of the way the reader says it. Anyway this book is overall really good but these few quirks kind of drove me crazy

the first book in the series is quite good. this book however seems to have a very confusing and very convoluted plot line. I was hoping that they had worked through most of the weirdness in the first book to give us a pure literary RPG experience. but I was wrong most of the book spends all its time looking Within and giving the literary runaround on the story. too much looking in not enough progression of the story, and too much time spent fiddling around with characters that you don't care about. if you like deep roundabout stories that don't ever get to the point and introduce a new characters and other people without giving them adequate backstory or detail this is the story for you.

For over 30 years, Dominion of Blades has been the hottest online role-playing game in the world. But the game is too real for some, and after an epidemic of real-life fatalities, public use of the immersion technology has been banned. Jonah wakes to find himself in-game, level one, with no memory of how he arrived and no way to eject. With only two companions, trapped in a world that once hosted millions, Jonah must battle his way across a treacherous landscape, fighting virtual monsters, all too real pain, and a very human enemy.
