I like Zig and the basic message, but this book and Zig's thinking on social issues, feminism, gender roles, homosexuality, etc. makes this an embarrassing time capsule. I could perhaps have recommended it with warning if not for the truly horrible Zig Ziglar singers who show up every half hour to perform a trite but of unlistenable pablum. This is a hard pass.

Built To Last, the defining management study of the 90s, showed how great companies triumph over time and how long-term sustained performance can be engineered into the DNA of an enterprise from the very beginning. But what about companies that are not born with great DNA? How can good companies, mediocre companies, even bad companies achieve enduring greatness?

Inspirational and useful. Every business can get better by paying attention to the lessons in Good to Great. This audio book is one I re-listen to about once every six months.

Would you recommend this book to a friend? Why or why not?

Too much of the book is spent justifying the books existence, arguing against MBA programs, detailing trivia from the author's life, etc., and not enough on solid business analysis and advice. There is a long section of the book dedicated to personal improvement that is irrelevant to the main topic. Some good business advice and parables, and definitely not a total waste of time.

Any additional comments?

Production values are not as high as most other audio books, with cheesy chimes throughout and several parts where there appears to be audio errors resulting in the repeating of passages.
