This is truly a gender war. I completely enjoyed the storytelling. The world building could have been explored better.
But it sucked me right in.

This is one of those books in which you have to suspend disbelief. The world building is not very detailed and one has to fill in the gaps or wonder if it's intentional.

But the story? The story is fantastic. I love all the characters. This is definitely a character driven series. Which I prefer over plot driven series. This series is going to break my audible bank. I'm listening to one book after the other.

Someone send audible credits please!

You’ll never hear anyone wax poetic over an organ quite like they do the heart. When you’re lost in the world? Follow your heart. When your love for someone is unwavering, unparalleled and unprecedented? You give them your heart. As a lead pediatric cardiac surgeon, I knew better than anyone that the heart is equally as powerful as it is delicate. The heart giveth just as easily as it taketh away. And until the day Kelly Potter darkened my doorway that was all just part of the job.

This story has a little bit of everything.
Emotion, sexy times, super cute moments and some laugh out ones too.
The two moms together are a riot.

I adore all the nicknames Doc has for Kelly, and Doc's capacity for love.

It was a great book.

Five seconds. A deafening blast. Pain. Silence. That was all it took for an IED to end my life as I knew it. The man I was shattered in a hard wave of sound and debris that rained down on me like death itself. And six months later, after waking up to an inescapable hell, I found myself wishing that death had found me. Until her. Miranda Jacobs swept into my life like a cool breeze on a smoldering day.

I already liked Miranda from meeting her in See Through Heart. She's quirky and fun, and full of life.
But now we get to meet Holden, who's the opposite. And I love a good opposites attract story.

Holden is a complex character, full of flaws and a bit of a jerk too. I mean he has his reasons.
But Miranda is crushing, and she can see the good under the rough exterior.

This was a great read, kept me invested and entertained for the entire duration of the book.

The narration was very good, and all the voices were distinct and the characters' personalities were capture by the narrator.
I listened to this book over two days. I started it yesterday afternoon and finished 24hrs later. That out tell you something about how much I enjoyed this audible.

Ainsley came into my life in a flurry of vibrant colors, lighting my world up when all seemed lost. It wasn't our quiet nights by the creek or stolen kisses surrounded by a sea of cotton that saved me. It was her. She was my comfort when life threw one ugly tragedy after another at me. Until she dealt me the greatest blow. Now, abandonment, betrayal, and death darken every corner of my life. Anger and hurt burn bright where love and trust once lived. But now she's back.

In this book we get to meet Ainsley, Loralie and Adrian, and we watch them grow and evolve along with the story.
We watch them mature, lose and find their way as they learn to deal with heartbreaking situations.

The narrative is beautiful, the emotions are raw, the anger and hope so very real.
But the love? The pure and unconditional love between the characters is what takes this book to the next level.
Where hope is lost, love prevails.

An emotional read that's sure to pull at the heartstrings of even the most tough of readers.

OMG, I loved the story. It kept me interested and locked on it the entire time. I found myself looking for stuff to do around the house so I could keep listening to it. I always listen to an audiobook while cleaning, cooking, driving, etc.

The characters are likable and the story flows very nicely. Yes, you have to suspend disbelief, but that's my favorite part of listening to PRN, fantasy or time travel books.

I found the narration to be a bit slow, but I changed the listening speed to 1.25x and that fixed it.

And what I love the most is the added info at the end, once the book is finished. That really made me love it all the more.
What a great book!

Just the sight of Dustin Nikoli spiked fear in my heart. The memories of the things that he had put me through in high school made me want to run in the other direction. I was the dirt on the bottom of his shoes, my only purpose someone for him to torment. No one else saw it. To his peers, he was a man's man. To all of the girls unaffected by his cruelty, a lust object. He was the hottest *sshole you could ever meet. Pretty face. Amazing body. Ugly on the inside.

If the intention of this book was to gain sympathy for Dustin, the bully, then the way it was written is brilliant because he's the only character I liked.

The most interesting character, the one with most growth by far is Dustin, the bully. But most of the book is about Brenna and her obsession with Bobby, a boy she has crushed on for years and follows into college.

Brenna and Bobby are not very likable characters, each is self-centered, immature and naive. I don't think it's ever really said in the book, or if it is I missed, but I believe they are freshman in college. Maybe not Dustin, I think he's ahead.
But Brenna and Bobby act more like middle schoolers than college students.

When Pestilence comes for Sara Burn’s town, one thing is certain: everyone she knows and loves is marked for death. Unless, of course, the angelic-looking horseman is stopped, which is exactly what Sara has in mind when she shoots the unholy beast off his steed. Too bad no one told her Pestilence can’t be killed. Now the horseman, very much alive and very pissed off, has taken her prisoner, and he’s eager to make her suffer. Only, the longer she’s with him, the more uncertain she is about his true feelings towards her, and hers towards him. And now, well, Sara might still be able to save the world, but in order to do so, she'll have to sacrifice her heart in the process.
