Story
Her father is The King of England. She is The Controversial Princess. Regarded as down to earth by the press and rebellious by The King, Princess Adeline refuses to bow to the royal expectations her title carries. She knows better than anyone that the united front of the royal family is nothing but smoke and mirrors - lies and secrets masked by power and privilege. She wants no part of it, and she will never surrender to The King's demand to marry a man she does not love. But despite Adeline's determination to retain her free will, she remains deeply unfulfilled, feeling caged.

Story
I am...That’s no longer an easy statement. Who am I? Since Sterling Sparrow, a man so handsome he takes my breath away and so infuriating he pushes me in ways I’ve never known, came barreling into my life like a category five hurricane, I can’t even finish that simple statement. In 26 years I’ve lived three lives - been three different people. Renee. Kennedy. And now, Araneae. They say that I was named after the spider to make me resilient. Sparrow would then be a bird. Birds eat spiders. I prefer to consider myself a cat.

Story
Jake McKallister might have been a rock star, but he was no ordinary one. Surviving an unspeakable crime as a young teen had shaped him into a guarded workaholic, and he now lived his life trying to forget. If it hadn't been for music and the redemption he found through it, he might not have survived. Career success came easily for him. Personal connections did not.

I found this book has everything. Its characters are so colorful and the heroines are women you really want to cheer on.
The author weaves the story between two women in two time periods. Sugar, who grew up in the early twentieth century and Marylee who lives on Sugar’s family farm in present day with the older woman as her landlady.
They aren’t sure what to think of each other, but the relationship between them grows into a friendship they both need.
I highly recommend this book to anyone who wants to listen to a wonderful story.

Great book

This is a really good book that works well as a stand-alone and it really has potential to be the first book in an epic historical fiction series.
The 1920’s is such a colorful era with many great real life characters.
We have a young ingenue being courted or seduced by multiple men for a variety of reasons. We have her conniving aunt and uncle who are interested in making her a part of a business deal.
And the men are wonderful!
I highly recommend this audible to anyone who enjoys a fun listen.

Story
Jax Christensen likes his life just the way it is. He has his work, his club, and the occasional naked submissive to take his mind off everything else. He doesn't talk about the past, as there is no point in reminiscing about things that cannot be altered. His chest has an empty hole where his heart used to be, but he's grown accustomed to the constant pain. It's become the only thing that reminds Jax that he's alive.
