Fundraiser Linden Hill has a knack for reading people. She always knows which conversations will put a prospect at ease, which drink will loosen a patron's lips - or his wallet - and how cleavage will make a donor sweeten the deal. She's even foreseen her dateless weekends 464 times in a row. But 10 years after watching life drain from her former mentor's and first love's eyes, her skills for divining the predictable are lost.

I never knew I could not only enjoy but also give 5 stars to such a confusing book but some how this author made it happen. At any given point I was wondering WTH and yet it never stoped me from sitting on the edge of my seat. And after hearing this style of narration so perfectly performed I don’t think I can go back to duel narration where in one chapter it’s a male narrator doing both voices and the next chapter is female doing the same characters but with her voice...that seams stupid now. Anyways, loved the book. Get it.

This author answers questions that I often felt were so theoretical that an answer did not exist. If you’ve ever played the “what would you do if...” game and ended up debating it with others for so long that your coffee goes cold or beer goes flat and yet a true answer is never uncovered then you will appreciate this authors ability to complete the sentence. What would you do if...

A piece of paper destroyed me. It was one day...one moment...one letter. One lie. That's all it took to change the course of my life. Now he's back. And he thinks I'm the one who broke him. Someone is lying. And it's not me. But it's not him either. We need to learn to trust again. Sometimes, however, I think trust should be considered a four-letter word. Note to listeners: This book is a stand-alone novel.

Why would you use Such a great male narrator then switch to a female narrator so VERY wrong for this role??? I have never written a negative review, and I’m sure she is great for other books, but not this one. I’m so bummed cause I was really loving this book.

My childhood was stolen by a monster. I've forgotten what love feels like. What happiness feels like. What hope feels like. I am numb. Him: He's possibly as damaged as I am. Maybe even more. Scarred just as much on the inside as the outside. Just like me. He doesn't speak. He doesn't smile. He hides in the woods like an animal. I should be scared of him, but I'm not. He's the only one that has ever made me feel. And I want to make him feel, too. Everything....

Once upon a time, there was a girl who stopped believing in fairytales after her innocence was stolen. Morgan Myers is tired. So damn tired. Most people either push her around or brush her off, and she's not putting up with it anymore. Determined to reclaim the life that had been stolen from her, she puts her trust in the last person she ever expected to: the notorious Scar. Morgan sees a side of him that few people seem to know - the man, not the myth. Lorenzo. And what she sees, she likes, a lot more than she thought she would.

I listen to a lot of books, and even those that Ive loved in the past can not compete with these 2 books. They are perfectly coordinated. From the book cover looking exactly like I would have imagined him, to the most spot on narrators playing their roles perfectly, and finally- a really well written story. This tale straddles the lines of several genres, and does it with perfect balance. The romance is heart warming without being mushy, the sex is hot but not on every other page, the action is constantly moving but you never get lost.
Also, if you have a dry sarcastic sense of humor, you will find yourself laughing throughout both books. It's the ridiculous juxtaposition of a killer who can't get his straw into a Capri Sun. Or the insanity of a hard core mafia type killer who raised a brother that is totally straight laced. It leads to many laughable moments. I totally recommend that the stories be read in order. Heck, just read them!

I've never been afraid of the dark...but that doesn't mean I wanted to live in it. Maybe everyone wants what they can't have, but I should've thought it over before I unlocked the door to their forbidden world. Number One is mostly silent. He watches me very carefully. Number Two is mostly gentle. But it's the other side of him I like best. Number Three is mostly reserved. It was carnal, it was sensual, and it was erotic. That's it. That's all it was supposed to be. A trip into the dark. A peek into the forbidden. I just didn't expect to like them.
