He meets Jane, a preacher's daughter, who is widowed and pregnant, while waiting to meet his sentence of hanging. Quinn, being the lovely man he is decides to help Jane out. But miracle of miracles, he is pardoned.

Great story and characters. Filled with intrigue, humor and heat. This narrator was wonderful as well. I highly recommend the story and the audio book, and am looking forward to the next in this series.

Gillie Trewlove knows what a stranger’s kindness can mean. So, when suddenly faced with a soul in need, Gillie doesn’t hesitate. But he’s a grievously injured handsome gentleman who doesn’t belong in Whitechapel, much less recuperating in Gillie’s bed.... Being left at the altar is humiliating; being rescued from thugs by a woman is the pièce de résistance to the duke of Thornley’s bad day. Twice he has been close to the altar and still no duchess. Will the third time be the charm? A duke can't marry just anyone. His wife must be of good family, be fertile, and be young. Struggling playwright Sarah Pettijohn is absolutely the last woman Gavin Whitridge, Duke of Baynton, would ever fall in love with. However, there is something about her that stirs his blood, which makes her perfect for a bargain he has in mind: In exchange for backing her play, he wants Sarah to teach him about love.

This is a fun story of forbidden love between a princess and a non royal, although he IS an earl. The two meet under circumstances that are interesting and their attract6to each other turns into romance. But the complications may be too many to overcome.
The story had interesting characters, plenty of longing and heat, and the narration was well done.
