The murders of a team of United Nations scientists in El Salvador.... A deadly collision in the waterways off the city of Detroit.... An attack by tomb raiders on an archaeological site along the banks of the Nile.... Is there a link between these violent events? The answer may lie in the tale of an Egyptian princess forced to flee the armies of her father 3,000 years ago.

Pushing forty and still single, Hetta is the epitome of the "B" word: bold, bossy, brassy, breezy, and brash. Remenicint of the old '50's detective shows/movies with a bit of CSI flavor. Grabs you from the get go and when you think it is done, along comes another surprise and another. Lots of characters, mystery, romance, none of it overdone yet riveting to the core. Had me yelling out loud in parts like a good movie. Narrator was perfect! Can't wait to read/listen the rest of this series.

In October 1943, a U.S. destroyer sailed out of Philadelphia and supposedly vanished, the result of a Navy experiment with electromagnetic radiation. The story was considered a hoax - but now Juan Cabrillo and his Oregon colleagues aren't so sure. There is talk of a new weapon soon to be auctioned, something very dangerous to America's interests, and the rumors link it to the great inventor Nikola Tesla, who was working with the Navy when he died in 1943. Was he responsible for the experiment? Are his notes in the hands of enemies?
