Conceptually Good, Bad Audio

I've read several books about fasting and researched the topic quite a bit. So the content was good and interesting, if not entirely novel given my familiarity with the topic. That said, I almost turned this off many times and struggled to finish. I don't know if the narrator's voice really is that strange, if there was some poor technical recording aspect, if the playback speed was incorrectly set when uploaded (I tried several options and made thing helped), or if there was some strange auto-tune type effect applied. Regardless, this is by far the worst audio book I have ever listened to in terms of quality of performance and I can't recommend it on that alone.

This book certainly covers much of the same grounds as Fung's Obesity Code, so some may find that disappointing. For me, however, it was good review and offers some differences perspectives on Moore and doesn't go into as much depth on hormones and all the biochemistry, which I imagine appeals to those who care more about practical application than science. Good listen no matter what though.

The overall objective of this book really does not suit my business. I'm just not there yet. But I had read all of Mike's other work and this was a natural choice. Even though it isn't as personally helpful to me, it's a great listen and the theories and protocols all make sense. Definitely worth your time.

I began watching Siim on YouTube and have now read/listened to a few of his books. He is one of the best resources there is when it comes to fasting and keto. Beyond that -- and different from others trying to profit in this now-popular space who preach about it all with an almost-religious fervor -- Siim maintains a constant focus on overall health, viewing IF/keto as powerful tools to use for certain goals but always maintaining that it is necessary to understand other vital factors including sleep, gut health, muscle building, and hermetic stresses.

Must read (listen) for every human. Great info and insights but the true greatness is the way everything is arranged so that the story unfolds in such an intuitive and engaging way even as it jumps around by millennia st a time. Read it now.

This is a diet book at it's core but really more delving into a philosophy on life. While the macho sentimentality, estrogen-phobia and longing-for-history nostalgia are a bit much, the key idea of fasting and feasting has rightfully gained a massive following since Ori first published this book. That said, straight up intermittent fasting makes a lot more sense scientifically and some of his suggestions are not worth your time (mainly the frankly silly training advice). In audiobook form, the long lists of supplements and other particulars also drag on quite a bit, even if the info is fine. But ultimately, this was something of a pioneering examination of an eating style that we should all be doing at least to some degree (fasting), and that alone, along with some captivating way-of-life philosophy, makes this a good and valuable book to digest.

Pretty good breakdown of the diet, although a bit overly preachy with the sleep and primitive eating stuff. Quite repetitive as well. Could have been about half as long but the athlete-focus stuff was novel compared to much of the discussion I've seen of keto.

I knew most of this info from excessive IF/keto YouTube research (including plenty of Dr. Fung videos) but getting it all, so scientifically and all in one cohesive, comprehensive resource was very enlightening. It is already allowing me to continue my current health/weight improvement journey with much more confidence and knowledge. Very glad there are medical professionals who can lay out all the facts and myths so clearly.

I've listened to most of his books and all are good. This was the least appealing to me (mainly given my type of and goal for business). But objectively it's as insightful and engaging as the rest, even if my dude remains pretty corny. Rare author, though, who makes their work better by being the narrator.
