Marianne has a life others dream of. A beautiful townhouse on the best street in the neighbourhood. Three bright children who are her pride and joy. Sometimes her past still hurts: losing her mother early, growing up in foster care. But her husband, Simon, is always there. A successful surgeon, he’s the envy of every woman they’ve ever met. Flowers, gifts, trips to France: nothing is too good for his family. Then Simon says another woman’s name. The way he lingers on it, Caroline, gives Marianne a shudder of suspicion, but she knows it’s nothing - she can’t entertain this flash of paranoia.

So tiring to have to endure overused profanity. My group agrees with me. The ending is unrealistic because Simon is a true psychopath. Enough said in order to avoid spoiling it, this is the reason for three stars. Also, it gets quite repetitive half way through, however the performer is fantastic.

When our partner is a narcissist, only those who've actually experienced the madness will ever understand what we're going through. When Love Is a Lie is a straight-up, tell-all book about narcissism in relationships that skips the clinical bullshit to focus solely on the personal experience. A narrative that holds nothing back, Zari Ballard's story will educate, enlighten, and empower you to evaluate (and fully understand) the mind-boggling dysfunction in your own relationship.

F word gets so tiring. Almost ruined this great book. Repetitive F word is just unnecessary and becomes a crutch. Cheapens the rich writing.

Voted Most Likely to Succeed, Melanie Bartlett ended up anything but. The down-on-her-luck single mom wants a complete do-over - is that too much to ask? With her family long gone from River Bend, strong, independent Mel is as surprised as anyone to end up in the quaint small town she once called home. But with her friends, Jo and Zoe, by her side, and a comfortable room at Miss Gina's quirky bed-and-breakfast, she just might have turned the corner on a new life.

Started out good, potential there. Fell so flat and got so boring the longer it went. I couldn’t finish.. it was painfully bad. Annoying child rendition, (sounded like a 3 yr old) Reader had no emotion but had a nice voice. I want a refund.
