This course is an introduction to the stock market and stock investing for novices and experienced investors alike. Professor DeGennaro uses simple analogies to explain the origin of stocks and other securities, as well as their relative risks. He stresses the danger of trying to beat the market by trying to pick winners, predict price trends, or otherwise find opportunities that other investors have missed.

I've listened to other books and tried to learn many of the topics he covered in these lectures but nothing compares to the quality of these lectures. He's very thorough and tells a great story throughout with many analogies and explains most things in enough depth to understand the basics. I think I respond to this well because I'm also in research. You can tell he's a professor. Covers all sides very well and does a great job of explaining pros and cons.

We are not positive because life is easy. We are positive because life can be hard. As a leader, you will face numerous obstacles, negativity, and tests. There will be times when it seems as if everything in the world is conspiring against you and your vision seems more like a fantasy than a reality. That's why positive leadership is essential! Positive leadership is not about fake positivity. It is the real stuff that makes great leaders great.

He goes through many person stories of people he knows. But when you follow people around they act and perform differently. He is friends with many of these people. You need to see through the eyes of the followers not through your friends. I like the message. He is good enough to keep you listening but there are no action points I can remember. He just uses his personal stories of how he followed around this guy for a bit and he was a great leader. I think anyone can put on a show when someone is watching them. Tim Tebow was his best example but then he talked about Steve Jobs who was one of the worst people to work for in the world from all accounts I've ever heard. So in my opinion I'd listen again but not the best book ever in HOW to change your attitude to be more positive.

This book is kind of awkward at first but once you think about it, it makes much more sense. He didn't sell me until he described the 401k. You don't see that money so you budget accordingly based on what's left over. You don't see it so you don't steal from it. Then it all made sense. Don't see a lump sum and you will budget accordingly. I don't own a business but setup personal savings accounts for several items. My fiance looked over and saw I just did this and instantly made separate accounts and created nicknames for them. Great book and very interesting to listen to. He's also pretty damn funny.

Now he won't stop repeating the same stupid stuff and saying tonality. I'm sure he's a great salesman, but don't take advice from him. Get a better book that shows you how to be likeable and influence people.

Great listen. I don't consider this marketing at a higher level if you're interested in that. This is mostly only for sales people who are making the calls and setting up appointments. No matter how much education you have I still believe sales people are born and not made. Great sales people always have the same demeanor and are always likeable. Your personality determines a lot of it I think.
