I almost quit this story a dozen times. The inhumanity and outrageous depiction of society is beyond depressing. Gloom and doom would be a high point. Under any name and about any subject matter, SK can write. Do not read this if you are already down. This story could do you in.

Super hero lives up to accolades. Author does a wonderful and believable story of our hero over coming unbelievably difficult situations. Fun and entertaining. I highly recommend this book.

What did you like best about Private: #1 Suspect? What did you like least?

I like Jack. Like many books that are a series, you get hooked on the main character and can't wait for the next release. The book held my interest and had enough going on to keep me awake while driving. The multiple stories within the story are well engineered and magically, all is resolved at the end.

Has Private: #1 Suspect turned you off from other books in this genre?

No, I will continue to read these as long as Patterson keeps writing them. It is hard to find good heros that are just a little damaged.

What three words best describe Scott Shepherd’s performance?

Clear, timely, in context

If this book were a movie would you go see it?

Yes

I was hesitant to read this book due to all of the negative comments regarding the narrator and the audio which I did not find bad at all. The hero wasn't the typical man we all want to be. I have yet to read a book from this author that I didn't really enjoy.

What disappointed you about Wild Card?

I read/litsten to about 2 books a week and I found this to be the most trashy, over sexed novel I have ever read. If reading about large di*** and organisms then this is the book for you. This was not in the romance/sex novel section. I thought it was an action oriented ex navy seal story, which I have read many, but this was all about a guy with a big D..... and how he couldn't relieve himself. My library has about 175 in Audible not counting many others and this is the only book that I could not finish.

What was most disappointing about Lora Leigh’s story?

Its description was about a navy seal but the story was about sex. Thank God I use an ear piece to listen. I am used to some interleaving of sex into the story because it is a part of life. But this book was a little bit of story woven around a guys, lusting, throbbing, penetrating ya da ya da.

How could the performance have been better?

I understand the premise and it could have been expressed without all of the graphic detail and it could have stayed in the background. The hero could have overcome and won in the end, I will never know because I couldn't finish.

If you could play editor, what scene or scenes would you have cut from Wild Card?

OMG - there wouldn't be much of a story left.

Any additional comments?

I have been remiss in ever giving comments. I often don't even read comments, just the story line. I wish I would have read some of the reviews first. Maybe this is a typical romance novel (not that I consider this romance) but wasn't aware. Folks, there are some really good books out there and this is not one. Try DeMille or Baldacci; you can get some romance without the graphic depiction of sex.

Difficult to follow - difficult getting attached to any character.

Would you be willing to try another one of Michael Kramer’s performances?

Performance wasn't that bad, but he did not have a lot to work with

What reaction did this book spark in you? Anger, sadness, disappointment?

I finish what I start and at the end I was happy I finished. Terrible ending.

Where does The Count of Monte Cristo rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

Very high. I like action stories, with heroes and villains. It only took a short time to become enthralled with the count.

Who was your favorite character and why?

Edward - the count

What about John Lee’s performance did you like?

Subtle voice differentiation - well paced - but never over the top. He ranks up there with Scott Brick.
