I really thought I was going to love this psychological thriller. The book was even praised by other authors such as Stephen King. It was compared to best selling novels such as Gone Girl. I also seriously think long and hard before committing to a stories that is 100 chapters long. The premise of the book sounded both suspenseful and intriguing. Anna Fox lives alone in her New York City home, unable to venture outside. She spends her day drinking too much wine, watching old black and white movies, and spying on her neighbors. Then she sees a murder or does she? It took so long to get to murder that I almost quit on the story. The story moves like molasses. I love character development and I love when it helps build the suspense or mystery but in this case it didn't. I kept falling asleep to this book. The outcome was easy to figure out so there was no payday for all my patience. If you suffer from insomnia I highly recommend. Otherwise, don't bother.

I loved this story. At first I thought I may have trouble because the story is set in England and sometimes stories set in that region tend to run slow. No chance here. Set up of the story is after a lead Detective is defamed and ruined over an aquitted suspect who later is found to be a serial killer. The Detective comes unhinged. He losses his wife and does some time in a mental health facility. Once well and back on the job, he gets a call to a homicide. At first it appears to be a normal scene. Once further examination is done it is found the all the light bulbs but one that shines on the deceased have been removed. The body is a combination of different peoples body parts sewn together. The head, is the serial killer that was aquitted and one female arm points out the window straight at the Detectives home. Sound good? It is. I have already purchased the follow- up book. Enjoy the story!

This story was similar along the lines of ten little Indians. A group of strangers come to stay at a remote location during a horrible snow storm. Murder begins. NEED I SAY ANYTHING MORE? Fun read. Nothing too serious. Read this in December of 2018. Just now getting around to talking about it. This is the second book I've heard by this author. She can be dry at times but the overall story is worth the journey. Enjoy.

You really can't go wrong with this author. She has been around forever and her work is well known. They turned her books into a TNT show but I never watched because I prefer the books. If you want to start the series and I highly suggest you do, it begins with her first novel the Surgeon. The plot begins with a murder and as we find out as additional murders happen...that they are somehow connected to a group of childhood friends. It was a quick read and held my interest to the end. I was actually upset with myself for not solving the mystery as I often do. They got me and it will get you too.

This psychological thriller involves the three main characters. Louise, David and Adele. It starts with Louise meeting a man one night at a bar. This was a well written story with a unbelievable ending. Don't believe me? Good. Read it for yourself. Just prepare yourself for a ride that reminds me of the Twlight Zone.

This caught my eye based on the story and the mixed reviews. Some said it was too graphic for them but I didn't find this story at all offensive. It can be sad in parts but the overall story speaks to the surviours in women and the relationships that bond us. Perhaps not to theses extremes but in general. The story is about a man who takes young girls and holds them captive. In the name of love...He tattoos them, rapes them and kills them if they become, sick pregnant or when they turn 21. A garden of young butterflies. Not a book for a fragile reader. I really loved how the story unfolded and ended with a few twists and surprises. The story is gripping and highly suspenseful. The characters are so good that you can literally picture them. There are 3 more books in the series but they all seem to deal with different characters. Waiting to see if I want to step back into another story by this author. Need a break from sadness. I recommend this if you like thrillers.

This book is about life, death, dreams, love, betrayal and secrets. Sound interesting? This author was new to me and the story starts off by telling you that one of the main characters is dead. The story really has less to do about solving anything. It basically does an autopsy of one familys life. The devil is in the details that begins with the meeting of Marilyn and James. The majority of the story is set in the 70's and early 80's. While I found the story to be okay and didn't dislike the story. I am certainly in no rush to explore further writings by this author. It is a best seller and I'm sure many love it. Just not me. I honestly felt slightly empty by the end of the story. If your looking for something uplifting, this isn't the book.

I honestly have mixed feelings about this book. It is listed as a psychological thriller. Interesting? Yes. Thrilling? No. I know I expect a great deal when I sit down to read a book. This latest book was entertaining but it lacked the urgent push that compelled to get to the next chapter. It wasn't a horrible book but it wasn't unforgettable. The story centers around a baby that goes missing after a dinner party. From there it is a who done it but it quickly becomes obvious who did it. The best twist comes in the last chapter. I only wish the whole book was as good as the last chapter.

This book was everything I could have hoped for and more. it isn't often that books live up to the level of hype from the critic. This book delivers a dramatic yet thrilling one two...three punch. You start off learning about Vanessa who was once married to Richard. A successful and wealthy business man. I can't say anymore without giving something away. All I will say is that this book serves up a tasty treat that must be devoured in large quantities and often. I would listen whenever a moment presented itself. This is my favorite book so far this year. Check it out!

Enjoyed the story but not the ending. It raised more questions than it answered. I even went back and listened to chapters over and over to see if I missed something. I don't want a book to leave things up to interpretation. I want the author to serve it up like a tasty meal that I crave and not skip the dessert. However, I can't deny that the story was suspenseful and entertaining. Therefore, overall it is worth the read. I thoroughly enjoyed the narrator. She spoke lovely and delivered each word with such emotion. It made listening an enjoyable experience.
