I loved this second Craig Johnson novel, luckily available in French language digital print version. The length, action, personalities, scenes, are all of a quality of which I could not want more. I will definitely purchase more audible books from this author along with their French counterpart, for improving my foreign language vocabulary as well as colloquial expressions.

When both the English and French versions of Audible books are made available to me here in the USA as a amazon.com customer, I am delighted. Even more so when the written French words are made available as was the case for The Dome I am ecstatic with joy to be able to use all three as a teaching aide for me to better my French language comprehension. Thanks, please do so for us bilingual listeners and readers.

On an entirely normal, beautiful fall day in Chester's Mill, Maine, the town is inexplicably and suddenly sealed off from the rest of the world by an invisible force field. Planes crash into it and fall from the sky in flaming wreckage, a gardener's hand is severed as "the dome" comes down on it, people running errands in the neighboring town are divided from their families, and cars explode on impact. No one can fathom what this barrier is, where it came from, and when - or if - it will go away.

Thank goodness books such as this are being made available in English and French. Kudos Audible! The different accents used by the reader to portray the various characters was very much appreciated. Such talent! Only one star is removed in the Story category which reflects my aversion to smoking, the glorification of which is unfortunately described far too often in this book. Smoking aside, all else was a wonderful experience.

Most books about the history of humanity pursue either a historical or a biological approach, but Dr. Yuval Noah Harari breaks the mold with this highly original book. From examining the role evolving humans have played in the global ecosystem to charting the rise of empires, Sapiens integrates history and science to reconsider accepted narratives, connect past developments with contemporary concerns, and examine specific events within the context of larger ideas.

Marie-Laure lives with her father in Paris near the Museum of Natural History, where he works as the master of its thousands of locks. When she is six, Marie-Laure goes blind and her father builds a perfect miniature of their neighborhood so she can memorize it by touch and navigate her way home. When she is 12, the Nazis occupy Paris and father and daughter flee to the walled citadel of Saint-Malo, where Marie-Laure’s reclusive great-uncle lives in a tall house by the sea. With them they carry what might be the museum’s most valuable and dangerous jewel.
