Jack Ryan has only just moved back into the Oval Office when he is faced with a new international threat. An aborted coup in the People's Republic of China has left President Wei Zhen Lin with no choice but to agree with the expansionist policies of General Su Ke Quiang. They have declared the South China Sea a protectorate and are planning an invasion of Taiwan. The Ryan administration is determined to thwart China’s ambitions, but the stakes are dangerously high as a new breed of powerful Chinese anti-ship missiles endanger the US Navy's plans to protect the island.

It was a fatastic book that uses science, logic and reason to analize nuclear power, nuclear weapons and nuclear accidents. Unlike most other works that use fear, drama and ignorance to mostly excuriate nuclear power, Mr. Mahaffey injects knowledge and experience to show how overblown our fear of all things nuclear has become. AN OUTSTANDING BOOK!

My only qualm is with the narrator's constant mispronouncing the word Tritium. He pronouces in tri-shee-um which I have never heard used in my 40+ years in science. It is normally pronounced as tri-tee-um! OK, I'm being nitpicky but it constantly irritated me in an otherwise outstanding book@

His work for the CIA is brilliant, cold-blooded, and efficient, but who is he? In a harrowing tour de force, phenomenally best-selling author Tom Clancy shows how an ordinary man named John Kelly crossed the lines of justice and morality to become the CIA legend known as Mr. Clark. It is an unforgettable journey into the heart of darkness, without mercy - without remorse.

I really enjoyed the story. Read the book years ago and can now enjoy it while stuck in traffic.
John Terrence Kelly, aka John Clark is probably my favorite character in the Clancy novels. The story of his early life and adventures that culminate in his entry into CIA field ops is both exciting and heart rending. But he never loses his honor and refuses to sacrifice his honor even to save his own life is a quality that many good men strive for.
You will enjoy the story. My only regret is that Mr Clancy is not around to bring us more stories of the adventures of Mr Clark.
Miss you Tom.
