Once upon a time, I was an 18-year-old psychology student. Now, I'm a man's property. Stolen and sold, I've been decorated in bruises since the day my world changed two years ago. I suffer in silence, I crave freedom, but I never break. I can't. Until he arrives. Elder Prest, the only man to look at me and see me. The only man more ruthless than my owner. He wants me for reasons I don't understand. He claims me for one night then leaves and never looks back. Until he returns. And life becomes much more complicated.

This was a hard book to listen too. I had a hard time getting through it. I’m sure it could be something that actually goes in in these days. The book sounds like it could have been written by someone who actually experienced exactly what girls have to go through with human trafficking.

Maddie Fynn is a shy high school junior, cursed with an eerie intuitive ability: she sees a series of unique digits hovering above the foreheads of each person she encounters. Her earliest memories are marked by these numbers, but it takes her father's premature death for Maddie and her family to realize that these mysterious digits are actually death dates, and just like birthdays, everyone has one.

I really enjoyed this book. The narrator was good. The story was good and well written. I found myself listening until it was over, in one day. I never expected the villain too be who it turned out to be.

Have you ever set out to have a one night stand with a sexy stranger? No? I’m the only one? Just kidding, I would never. Ever. Not usually. But then I figured, why not? My entire life I’ve been good and it’s gotten me nowhere. No job. No apartment. No boyfriend. I’m owed a little fun, aren’t I?

It was easy to call us forbidden and harder to call us soul mates. Yet I believed we were both. Forbidden soul mates. When I arrived in Edgewood, Wisconsin, I didn't plan to find him. I didn't plan to stumble into Joe's bar and have Daniel's music stir up my emotions. I had no clue that his voice would make my hurts forget their own sorrow. I had no idea that my happiness would remember its own bliss.

As an adult woman - and the vice president of a marketing firm - I shouldn't be waiting by my office window to ogle the mystery man who jogs by every morning at 11:45. Sure, he's a gorgeous, perfect specimen of the human race, but I can't bring myself to hit on a total stranger. However, my best friend-slash-colleague Vince Carson thinks I should do more than talk to the guy. In fact, he's borderline obsessive about "getting me laid". (His words.) But the more time we spend together, the more it's clear: The one I'm falling for is Vince.

It is hard to believe a child can be subjected to such violence. How can a parent that started off being so kind pick only one of her children to torture. No wonder we have so many disturbed children in this world. We need to work on the help these children get. Sometimes it’s not any better than where they came drone.

This information had to be told. It was sad and disturbing, but had to be told. It was well done. I’m glad this poor child had such a strong will and things finally turned out better for him. I hope his parents payed for the horrible things that were done to their child.
