This is not a bad story at all but the trouble is that i watched the tv show first and i actually liked that better. The tvshow is VERY different and i do not Think that you Can Call it the same story at all. The show is Much more dramatic and a lot of the people are not in the books at all and you kind of miss Them if you have seen the show first. My advise is if you love the tv series, you should not listen to this as the same story. If you Think of it as another story and not compare the two, this is a good story by it self.

Some days, all you need is a message from a stranger. Ruby Santos knew exactly what she was getting herself into when she signed up to write a soldier overseas. The guidelines were simple: one letter or email a week for the length of his or her deployment. Care packages were optional. Been there, done that. She thought she knew what to expect. What she didn't count on was falling in love with the guy.

When magic is up, electricity dies, cars stall, and skyscrapers tumble; when it's down, phones and guns work, and defensive spells can't protect your house from the creatures who stalk the streets. Equally dangerous are the competing factions of The Pack - a highly organized and military clan who governs Atlanta's were-bears, -wolves, and -hyenas - versus the Masters of the Dead, power and knowledge-hungry necromancers whose minds control hordes of blood-crazed vampires.

So if u like Your books to be about 20pages long if you exclude the sexscenes this book is not for u. I started listening to this series since i really liked the authors "hidden" series. And this first book is promising, so i Will continue on to the sequal. The Universe created is great, but if u like Everything explaned in details from the start, it May be confusing since the story does explain some things but otherwise kind of just take the things for granted. The narrator is good.

I love lovestories and i love paranormal stories but hate that the adult books in this genre have a tendency to be badly told porn. So i really try to find those that arent. And this isnt. The Universe created is great and the story Well written - And (spoiler alert) even though there is massive sexual tension between the two MCs, there is no sex! I love the family of the female MC and that none of the characters are perfect. The narrator just okay.

This is are rare treat - an adult paranormal romance with a story Line and not just sex and more sex. I have almost grown tired of trying to find these stories, but this is One and the second book is as good as the first. I Got a little irritated that the next book is on Pre-order but its set to be released on audio soon, so no sweat. The narrator is okay, sometimes she speaks like she has a potato in her mouth, but it kind of Sound forced so that is the reason why she is just okay. Not enough to not listen though

I really really hope that no prep schools in the World Works the Way the One in this book does - too much violence and u would Think that a prep School were u actually pay a lot for a better School would take action for broken bones and slashes in the face. And the fact that the female MC does not know the name of the biggest crimefamily in the City - or at least tries to find out when she wittness a murder - just make her look comepletely braindead - because it is of cause also neros last name - And she is supposed to be clever. And she is also portraied as strong but is still bending to nero every demand (and he is a dominant and a bully) which makes her even more stupid and unbelievable. And nero is absolutely not likable and it is not because i dont like dominant MC - which i normally do - but he does not Seem to have many braincells either. I have no idea how this book have Got so many good reviews. I know that they are teenagers and it May explain some of the lack of brainactivity that does not involve sex or violence, but at the same time they are very self-sufficient and live their lives comepletely without parental supervision. So not believable and i Didnt finish.

The narrator is still forced hoarse (i hope for him it is not his natural voice) but since i listened to this book anyway the story must make up for it.

The story is told with a couple of flashbacks since there are a lot of history that comes before and i would have liked the story to start at the beginning since i Think it would have made it even better, but as it is it is still a good story of sort of forbidden love due to the younger brother of a former lover theme. Ad in the crime/vigilante theme and i was entertained. It is the second book in a series, so if u want to read both i would start with the other even though it Can Be read as a stand alone. The narrator are anoyingly hoarse and it seems forced.

I enjoyed listening to this - and it is as the headline says - One of the better ones of its kind. There is even some humor in it. I was very confused the first 30 minuts pr so since the Male MC has three different names and i was not comepletely sure we were takling about the same person, especially since there is actually many stories at once in the book and therefore many characters introduced in the first 30 minuts. It May not be a problem if u listen to the troubleshooters series from the start instead of jumping in at book six, which this One is, as i discovered. And a lot of the previous history among the characters May also be in the previous books, which is why i Think it would be a same not to start from the beginning. Didnt really love the narrators. There was nothing wrong with them at all, just not my cup of tea.
