When I turned this book on I wasn't sure what to expect. Much of self help seems to be a repeat of the same stuff (get up early, stop being a victim, meditate, eat healthy, think positive, ect) so I wasn't sure what spin Mel would bring to this topic. I am a big fan of Mel's and did listen to Kick Ass, her last book. I loved Kick Ass so I did have high hopes for this. When I saw Mel mention her new book in her newsletter I downloaded it right away. Now that I've finished–WOW is all I can say. First, it's way way longer than Kick Ass and has tons of information in it. So much. It's all about how fear holds us back and how we can figure out the way that fear affects us as a person and change that. Mel says that it doesn't matter what other habits you have if you're held hostage by fear, and that really rang true with me. Like Kick Ass this book has coaching sessions, but in this case the coaching sessions were more of teaching moment. Then, after each session, Mel would talk for over an hour about each, sharing advice and takeaways. My favorite part of the book was when Mel shared her personal stories. I didn't realize how funny she is! I also liked how there were a variety of people coached. While I definitely resonated with some more than others, I did get something from each one. I also thought it was good how Mel really went through each action item in a ton of detail and shared the research and science behind what she was teaching. As I was listening the only downside was that there is SO much information covered that it was hard to remember it all (I listened to most of it in the car). Which is why I am so happy to see that Audible included a workbook in my library. I took a look at the workbook and saw that the lessons are all summarized which is so helpful! I am going to start filling out the workbook this weekend. Overall, Mel, you have done it again. This book was such an amazing listen and I couldn't believe how many times I nodded my head thinking "SHE GETS ME."

I love this book and its message. So many people do not understand the importance of gut health and healing your gut in order to improve mood and heal yourself from diseases. I love how Junger lays everything out–starting with his own story–and gives a concrete plan. This also comes with a 88 page PDF of food lists and recipes.

Wow. This book is so incredible. David Goggins is such an inspiration. If you're feeling sorry for yourself, or like a victim, or owned by your circumstances–you need this book. You can do so much more than you ever imagine. While I can't do thousands of pull ups, David has inspired me to push to my personal bests. Now I listen to this on my commute and before workouts. And then I go and do a set of 100 pull ups in a workout! And just last year I couldn't even do 1 pull up. Since learning about David Goggins I have brought a new intensity to my exercise routine and also to my attitude. Tap into what you are capable of. And listen to this book. It is literally the best book I have ever listened to and once I finish I plan to re-listen again. I have recommended this to so many people. WWGD.....WHAT WOULD GOGGINS DO is my new personal mantra! This book will change your life. Listen to it all.

Wow! This is unlike anything I’ve ever heard on Audible. I couldn’t stop listening. Mel is so funny, kind, ass kicking, giving people what they NEED not what they want. Listen to this if you want to change your life and stop being coddled. These episodes are so insightful and helping me to see patterns in my own life. Where can I sign up to have Mel coach me...?? FYI there is a ton of cursing and really heavy themes - but it’s all in a way that’s inspiring and helps us to see the lightness even in the deepest struggles.
