I have listened an average of an hour a day the last 2 years. This is the best listen ever. That includes other Meacham works. It is timely and timeless. Highly recommended.

By chapter nine I was thinking ok this is a review of what we already know.
Then in chapter ten new insight began to grow out of the foundation. I suggest you do not skip nine chapters, but let the story unfold.

Grant coupled greatness with humility. Make a point to read the last 15 minutes if you can't read the entire book. Compare and contrast to today's self-serving venality.

The narration is clear and easily understood. Ms Tur gives us a journalist's viewpoint of Trump's campaign.

What stood out for me was her insight into Trump's supporters. Not all of them are brash, loud, and obnoxious like their movement's leader. Like relatives of mine they have a set of grievances with our government. Unfortunately for them, they had a good message, but chose the wrong messenger.

What I would like to see next is a lawyer's point of view. Ari Melber are you listening?

Pope Francis shows love for our planet and the way it provides our sustenance. He tells of our connections to the Earth and each other and our responsibility to pass on to future generations an unspoiled environment.
I read a critical review in the middle of the book. I am glad I completed it. There is more to agree with than take exception to. Loved it and highly recommend it.

This book provides context for our present situation. Clearly we have lost sight of the challenges before us. They are lost in morass of personal politics.

Secretary Rice weaves a history of democratic institutions, including our own. She gives meaning to democracy as sausage making.
I would like to see the introduction redone. The volume is weak and ennunciation could be better.

A must-read for those engaged in current events. It could be used as a useful guide for the generation now entering adulthood. It becomes their role to amend and correct the excesses of the current generation.
Stick with the narrative at least through chapters 7 and. 9.

A very good narrative about the Plains Indians.Ot is detailed and informative. Time well spent. It seems the border area along the Top Grande has been porous for a long time.
