Could have been an OK procedural type thriller, but the heroine was such a whiny, mouthy, idiot that quite honestly, by the end i was hoping the serial killer would get her. Every interaction between heroine and ANY male figure, was construed as 'male dominated society holds back brilliant female mind'. Also, several very unbelievable plot events...won't give details in case you decide to buy and read/listen yourself, but there are several events that just wouldn't occur the way it was written....laughably silly plot lines almost. Also, contradicted itself on a primary forensic clue about use of accelerants just to wrap the story up I guess, no reason to have thrown in info at the end of the book that so wildly contradicted the first 3/4 of the book. I've never been a Patterson fan, but this one was so formulaic and predictable.

not a bad audible book but I've heard better True Crime. A lot of back and forth he said he said he said. the flow was just kind of stilting.
