Maddie Fynn is a shy high school junior, cursed with an eerie intuitive ability: she sees a series of unique digits hovering above the foreheads of each person she encounters. Her earliest memories are marked by these numbers, but it takes her father's premature death for Maddie and her family to realize that these mysterious digits are actually death dates, and just like birthdays, everyone has one.

I just could not enjoy the book as much as I wanted. The narrator was terrible and zipped threw people with no voice difference, so it was hard to follow. There was also a little to much aggression in the main character to develop a bond with. But a good story line.

Koontz is my favorite author and I don’t think I have ever read something by him, I don’t like. This story is no exception. It is dark, creative and the beginning of a series that pushes the limits of reality. Enjoy!
