The Ex-Wife audiobook cover art

Insipid

Overall
1 out of 5 stars

Reviewed: 07-30-19

This was one of the worst books I've heard. I can't believe the descriptions anymore., it's advertising but not downright lies. The main character was the silliest person, she just does one stupid thing after the other. I'm glad I got on sale for $5. I'm just ashamed of myself for listening to the whole thing!

This was just blah, I didn't even care if I finished it. I waited a long time to finally get to listen, and it just was not up to her standards.

A Murder of Crows audiobook cover art

Excellent who done it

Overall
5 out of 5 stars

I was disappointed to see that this was Ian's only book on Audible. I loved his character development and the uniqueness of his plot. If you like mysteries you'll love this one. I was impressed with his descriptions of nature and the world in which these characters moved. Hope Ian writes many more!

The Silent Children audiobook cover art

Barbie does murder

Overall
2 out of 5 stars

Reviewed: 01-10-18

The narration is so annoying a breathless Barbie comes to mind. It may be a very good plot but the narration is awful. I couldn't help but notice many Audio listeners have similar reactions, you'd think the author would get a clue and find someone else! The whole story is ruined because the voice just doesn't sound like a seasoned detective, more like a sex kitten that got the wrong job!

This was one of the worst books I've has the displeasure of suffering through, only because I was listening while driving.. The main character is so full of angst over everything she quickly became a bore. I kept wondering what horrible thing it was that she participated in. But this is a women that becomes almost suicidal over smoking A cigarette. Don't waste your money, you will become very frustrated waiting for something to happen to understand the point. Boo

Sycamore Row audiobook cover art

Grisham does it again

Overall
5 out of 5 stars

Reviewed: 05-13-17

As always, Grisham delivers a thoughtful and interesting tale, weaving southern history and courtroom drama ,which leaves you guessing until the dramatic ending. I have a very hard time writing reviews. Due to some problem with the kindle mechanism that powers this site! I give up!!

The Shark audiobook cover art

Good story

This was a great story with plenty of twists and turns. The narrative tone seemed forced or overly dramatic. She just needed to tone it down a bit. It kind of drove me crazy!

Secret Smile audiobook cover art

Ridiculous

Overall
1 out of 5 stars

Reviewed: 12-31-16

This was one of the worst audible books I've ever listened too. The narrative was overly dramatic and the ending was anticlimactic. The only reason I continued to listen was because audible wouldn't return it and I was on an eight hour drive. After complaining about it once I got Wi-Fi back, they returned it. I was very disappointed because I had read the Frieda Kline mysteries by the same authors.
The protagonist was unbelievably stupid at times.

The One Man audiobook cover art

Excruciatingly slow and painful

Overall
2 out of 5 stars

I only listened to this because of a good review . A trap I will never fall for again. The subject matter has been exploited by the best. Don't bother with this one, all too familiar, and ridiculously long.
