Jemma has spent her life scavenging tools and supplies in her tribe's small enclave outside what used to be a big city. Now she’s a teen and old enough to become a Mama. Making babies is how her people survive - in Jemma’s world, life ends at age 17. Survival has eclipsed love ever since the Parents died of a mysterious plague. But Jemma’s connection to a boy named Apple is stronger than her duty as a Mama.

Really enjoyed the characters in this book. Each person is vastly unique and likable, unless they weren't supposed to be. Only complaint is the story moved a little slow at times. Good listen though!

El Paso wasn’t the Promised Land that Ian and his crew had hoped for, but it wasn’t a total bust either. The concept of a safe haven in today’s world was a fool’s errand at best. This was the consensus of their tiny band and to keep moving their only salvation. While others waited in their pens, the four from the private security company moved on, taking on as many they could help, in hopes that they too would join the fight. Their journey was long and arduous, but it was worth it...they hope.

Slightly different story with a different kind of hero. I gave the narrator 5 stars, I though he did a good job, but the pace was a little slow. A little slow kind of describes the story. When the pace picks up the story is good.

Something called the “Blue Juice" is coming. For all of us. Luckily, me (Chip Collins), Pete, Nikola Tesla, Bobo, and FBI Agent Gina Phillips are here to kick its ass, and send it back to last Tuesday. Maybe. Or maybe we'll fail, and everyone in the multiverse is doomed. (Seriously, you might want to get that underground bunker ready.) Either way, I've got to get home to Julie and find out – woah, I'm not about to tell you that right here in the book description! TMI, dude.

If you're looking for an IDC, this is not it, however, this is really good fantasy. Hearne gets a little windy with some of the stories, but it's well worth it. This first novel has a lot of characters who are superbly brought to life by Luke Daniels and Xe Sands. Long , but very good listen!
