Etched in Sand
- A True Story of Five Siblings Who Survived an Unspeakable Childhood on Long Island
- By: Regina Calcaterra
- Narrated by: Regina Calcaterra
- Length: 8 hrs and 33 mins
In this story of perseverance in the face of adversity, Regina Calcaterra recounts her childhood in foster care and on the streets and how she and her savvy crew of homeless siblings managed to survive years of homelessness, abandonment, and abuse. Regina Calcaterra's emotionally powerful memoir reveals how she endured a series of foster homes and intermittent homelessness in the shadow of the Hamptons, and how she rose above her past while fighting to keep her brother and three sisters together.
A wonderfully told story

Overcoming unbelievable odds
This is a story that will break your heart and then lift it to the stars.
Cookie Calcaterra was hard to take because she spoke and acted so violently all the time and with constant cussing. But I believe it served it's purpose and demonstrating what a violent atmosphere the children were subjected to, and I'm not a fan of glossing over real facts in a true story. Is there anyway to fix such a broken system? Thank you Regina for this eye-opening story.

BOOK AND CHAPTER HEADINGS NEEDED!!!
Would you try another book from King James Version and/or David Cochran Heath?
What other book might you compare The Holy Bible in Audio - King James Version to and why?
Alexander Scourby's edition without music back ground is the PERFECT Bible audio file but it seems it is not being offered anywhere that I can find. This edition is very well done in every respect except that it lacks the book and or Chapter divisions making it nearly impossible to navigate.
Have you listened to any of David Cochran Heath’s other performances before? How does this one compare?
no but he is an exceptional reader.
Could you see The Holy Bible in Audio - King James Version being made into a movie or a TV series? Who should the stars be?
Any additional comments?
This is an incredible recording SOMEONE NEEDS to take the time to make the BOOK and CHAPTER devisions so that it can be navigated easily. It was already done with the Alexander Scourby edition many years ago, I'm pretty sure with todays technology it can easily be done again. I explored buying the books individually but they read as one large file with no chapter divisions, SO frustrating. Really hope someone will fix this problem. I would line up to buy it. Thanks
