Trust no one. Sam Callahan learned this lesson from a childhood spent in abusive foster care, on the streets, and locked in juvie. With the past behind him and his future staked on law school, he is moonlighting as a political tracker, paid to hide in crowds and shadow candidates, recording their missteps for use by their opponents. One night, after an anonymous text tip, Sam witnesses a congressional candidate and a mysterious blonde in a motel indiscretion that ends in murder, recording it all on his phone. Now Sam is a target.

A young mother's heart is most ripped from her body, as she holds her dying baby boy in her arms. Not three feet away lay her dead husband. She saw as two men saddled and stole Morris horses and a third gunned down two of the people she loved most. When the posse came looking for the men, US Marshal Shorty Thompson would not let her take up the trail after them. No, these men will know what real fear is as a mother's wrath slowly, and very painfully, destroys them.

Where does U.S. Marshal Shorty Thompson: A Mother's Wrath rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

It ranks as a good western with a different twist.

Who was your favorite character and why?

Adeline -- a woman not to be messed with. She was tough and smart and not at all sappy.

Which character – as performed by Kevin Iggens – was your favorite?

I thought he did a good job on all the characters. He transitioned well and I was never lost as to which character he was portraying.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

I like it when she maimed the killers one at a time --- I appreciated that it is not "PC" but was in the context of the story time.

Any additional comments?

Sometimes I just need a good western and this fit the bill. I was given this book free by audiobook boom in exchange for an honest review.

This is one of the best values I have ever gotten on Audible. Harry Starke is an interesting character -- part bad ass -- good guy-- and great detective. The novels all have a classic detective flavor similar to "Mike Hammer" "Spenser" or other classic detectives. The plots are in depth and pretty sophisticated --not the usual run of the mill detective stuff. His supporting staff and investigative partners (like Kate) are well developed and referenced in each novel. Sometimes I just like a good who-done-it novel and this is perfect! Three novels for 1 credit is a great bargain.

Joshua Guymon is a small town sheriff in the mostly Mormon Star Valley of Wyoming Territory. This is back in the days when to be Mormon was to be an outsider in the American West. His younger prodigal brother seems to have settled down from his wild ways and married. Joshua goes to meet his brother's bride and see how the newlyweds are doing on a ranch in the southern part of the territory. But trouble has a way of finding Joshua, from a crooked gambler to a highwayman to an escaped prison killer.

*My name is Ellis DeAngelo.* I tend to get caught in the midst of trouble quite often. I'm an unlucky guy, but fortunate to have friends to help me out. These aren't the memoirs of a geisha you'll be hearing. And most definitely not some soul-searching discovery that depicts eating, praying, and loving. This is so much better...or worse, depending on your perspective.

Tremblay did a good job narrating and the author brought everything together at the end. I found myself looking forward to hearing the rest of the story every time I stopped. I liked the main characters and their moral behavior in the face of many temptations was refreshing. Worth the price or a credit.

Largely self-taught, with little formal education, Dickens was catapulted to fame at the age of 24 with the publication of The Pickwick Papers in 1836. While some authors have depicted Dickens as a tormented soul or cruel misogynist who compromised his work by pandering to a wide audience, Simply Dickens convincingly shows him as a purposeful, supremely talented, and versatile personality whose popular appeal was central to his achievement.
