After financial disaster and the zeppelin bombing, the far-future, domed, neo-Victorian city of Bridges is reeling. Three of the four Families are implicated, and an inquest is called to investigate. After her failure to prove Jack Diamond's guilt in David Bryce's kidnapping and the murders of her informants, private eye and mobster's moll Jacqueline Spadros has had enough. While she and her former lover Joseph Kerr try to learn who killed their family friend, they also begin making plans to leave the city. Her tormentors, however, are just getting started.

I just finished listening to this insightful and suspenseful novel. While the author took a lot of time laying the back story, once the action started, it was non stop! The vocal artist did a great job of distinguishing characters with different voices, even children and the elderly. Overall, great job.

Most organizations and individuals work in the context of annual goals and plans; a 12-month execution cycle. Instead, The 12 Week Year avoids the pitfalls and low productivity of annualized thinking. This book redefines your "year" to be 12 weeks long. In 12 weeks, there just isn't enough time to get complacent, and urgency increases and intensifies. The 12 Week Year creates focus and clarity on what matters most and a sense of urgency to do it now.

Tracy Broussard

If you could take any character from Spell out to dinner, who would it be and why?

Donna, as one preacher's kid to another, I'd like to chat and share experiences.

A good assessment of where the Church of America is today when it comes to recognizing spiritual things.
