So when she gets the opportunity to become a chalet girl in the resort of Alpe d'Huez in the French Alps she jumps at the chance. Only she gets more than she bargained for when her assigned family turn out to be three hot bachelor brothers with a penchant for partying and women. This is nothing against the story, but I am not a fan of books with man whore characters. Especially ones that know exactly why they do it but take no responsibility for their actions.

It’s every girl’s dream, getting rescued by a handsome stranger. When I woke up and saw Kit Green standing over me, I thought he was an angel. I didn’t see the dark wings. What is he doing out here all alone? I don’t question it at first. I’m too busy being blinded by intrigue and desire. If it weren’t for him, I’d be dead. I want to repay him with my body. But things quickly begin to not add up. This cabin is full of secrets. It’s cold outside, but I’m starting to think he came out here to burn for his sins.

I really liked the narration and thought Sophie James did a great job of giving the characters their own voice.
The story was too quick for me. I though it began with an excellent idea. He was suffering and as a listener I felt his pain. However, the resolution was too simple. Deciding to live for the sake of a girl didn’t strike me as realistic for someone suffering with such an awful disorder.
I would recommend this for something fun and quick but not for the quality story telling.

I have a secret. A secret that chased me away from my home, my family, away from the only man I've ever loved. I took that secret and pushed it down inside of me.So far down, that it never had a chance of coming out. That dirty little secret was like a seed. A seed that took root and grew to become a piece of me. But what happens when that secret has finally outgrown me? When its vines climb over every wall I have in place? When it finally overfills that little spot inside of me that it's been buried in for so long now? All secrets come out eventually.

I really enjoy it when a narrator who is doing both male and female voice, has the ability to do them both so well. I was never confused as to who was talking.
The characters in the story were not my favorite. Stryker seemed to be a masochist because he continued to follow around this woman who kept blowing him off. Her parents were odd. Especially the Dad. I never understood why he seemed to hate Stryker until the end. Also the title was way over represented in the book. Phrases regarding pieces of the characters were mentioned numerous times and seemed redundant.

I really enjoyed this book. The characters were easy to get involved in and root for. The narration was very good as the characters were clearly separate and I wasn’t left confused as to who was speaking. This was a great contemporary adult audiobook for anyone who likes some steamy sex and an HEA. I am really looking forward to the next in the series.

Buried, by my family's fame. Dying to escape the limelight, and finally, I do. Being raised as a Jayne, I'm under constant scrutiny. The rock band my brothers formed makes it impossible to stay under the radar. Paparazzi, tabloids, rabid fans - you name it and I've got it. It all makes me sick. But getting shipped off to crazy Aunt Betty's house in my senior year of high school isn't any better. After all, there isn't a stray kid or pet in the world that my aunt wouldn't take in. Then I meet her. She's cautious, suspicious, and not interested in me at all. But that's fine by me.

Where does Famous by Default rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

I rank this quite high among books I have listened to for the story and the narrators ability to make the characters sound very different.

Who was your favorite character and why?

My favorite character was Jax. I loved his big heart and his ability to see past what someone looks like. Since his brothers were so famous and he was stuck in the limelight, it would have been easy to fall into a lifestyle where his morals and values were poor. Instead, he wanted a totally different life for himself.

What does Tiffany Marz bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

The ability to pronounce the names that I may not have known. Also the emotion associated with a very emotional story.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

I wanted to but I am unable to do that. Instead I got to look forward to listening daily.

Any additional comments?

I don't know if this is a series but I would love to hear more about the Jane brothers.

I did not expect to like this as well as I did. The narrator could have been more passionate during the more important scenes. But the story was great. There were plenty of twists and turns. The characters were well developed. It was unpredictable and that's what you want in this genre. I would recommend this book.

This series had a great ending. Nothing in it has been predictable which was great. I loved most of the characters even though they definitely had their flaws. I would recommend the series to everyone who likes romance, mystery, thrillers and a touch of supernatural.

I received this book in exchange for an honest review.
