This is definitely the best find of the year. I've never heard of this author or series before prime reading recommended it. I'm enthralled with the possibilities and descriptive narrative. Anna is an amazing character with all the bumps and bruises of life along with her good heart and goals. I can't wait to start the next book in the trilogy.

Lou's story is a real gift and I couldn't sleep until it was done. I've read the book several times, but the audiobook held a new range of voices in my head thanks to the amazing narration by Hollie Jackson. Following the creation of a demented murderer has been done before, but not like this. Making said murderer likable was the icing on the cake. If you're reading this review to decide if you should buy it, I would say you definitely should. who needs another beignet when you can enjoy such a well written and performed story.

Ramirez and Sue make it one of the most entertaining stories. If you want to know how a T-Rex and Chicago collide with dark wizards and our favorite noir inspired wizard, you need to read this one.

I have always prided myself on figuring out mysteries from very early in novels. This book shattered that and left me thrilling at how masterful every clue was colored to fit my expectations and the real finale. Worth every penny. It is a really wonderful book.

What made the experience of listening to Dying Light the most enjoyable?

The distinct interaction between the characters is what made the audio book so enjoyable. I have read it but loved the audible version even more.

What was one of the most memorable moments of Dying Light?

When Jesse has to trust herself more than her angel while escaping the needle that she can save all of them.

Have you listened to any of Hollie Jackson’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

This is a great example of her brilliant way to bring inflections into the characters allowing them to be heard separately even when the two characters are having a conversation.

If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?

The hunt is over, let the games begin.

Any additional comments?

This was a very enjoyable listen. I read the book several times before this and still found it amazing and full of the same thrills I felt during my first reading.

Would you listen to Summer Knight again? Why?

Yes, The characters are beyond fun to follow. The situation feels organic, The main character never feels omnipotent. He messes up. It is a wonderful story.

Did the plot keep you on the edge of your seat? How?

Yes, every time Harry made a mistake, you knew why he did it and still you would groan "that is not going to end well."

What about James Marsters’s performance did you like?

He makes every character come to life in their own way. All of the conversation tags could be dropped and still keep the audience clear on who was talking.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

The decision that Meryl makes for her friends was amazing.

Any additional comments?

One of my favorite of the series and a great introduction to the fae kingdoms. It shows just how out of his depth Harry can be.
