The Templeverse is amazing. I’ve been waiting for Quinn to come to Audible. I’m not disappointed! The narrator is amazing and absolutely nailed Quinn. I can’t wait for the rest of her adventures to come. She is a great addition to the Templeverse and I can’t say enough about the narrator. She absolutely nails the character.
Quinn was hard to get into at first. But the audio absolutely brought the character to life. Gave her the depth and character to Quinn. Bring on more.

Such a wonderful story. While Nate is off being Human Nate, "Human Nate Sucks", the war with Avalon is continuing. We once again come back to Layla's story and her friends. This story we continue to see Layla develop emotionally and still getting used to her Umbra powers. Layla now has to face her feared father in this story. I personally think that Steve is having fun making his own rebellion story.
My only complaint is in the pronunciation: The narrator pronouncing key character names differently than previous narrators in the series. Personally this should have been caught by Steve or his editor. It was really annoying, and distracted from the performance of the story. But it does not take away from the story as a whole.
Steve gives us another story full of ex gods, monsters, sorcerers, friendship, betrayal. He blends myth and modern times greatly. But we all can't wait to have Nate and Mordred back.

Steve knocked this one out of the park. So much is going on literally up to the last seconds of the book. I can’t wait to see what his Avalon books bring, and for Nate to come back after is year hiatus. Brilliant book. Brilliant series.

Nate is tested in this installment. He’s on cloud 9 and on deaths doorstep. This book also had a lot of Mordred in it. Love that character. This was The Empire Strikes Back for the Hellequin Chronicles.

Nate Temple's all-consuming quest to avenge his parents is temporarily put on hold when shape-shifting dragons invade St. Louis. And perhaps cow-tipping the Minotaur for answers might not have been Nate's smartest opening move, because now every flavor of supernatural thug from our childhood nightmares is gunning for him. Nate learns that the only way to save his city from these creatures is to murder his best friend.

If you could sum up Obsidian Son in three words, what would they be?

Nate Temple reminds me of the Batman of the Supernatural world. This first book of the series introduces us to the action of Nate’s life and what is to come. Characters are great and supporting characters are well constructed and the world of Nate Temple is exciting and non stop action, plots, and political intrigue.

What was one of the most memorable moments of Obsidian Son?

Nates humor Reptile Disfunction!!!

Which character – as performed by Marcio Catalano – was your favorite?

In this book it would be Nate

This was an excellent brain candy book while waiting on some of my other series to put out their next books. I wasn't expecting a lot but was blown away. I like how Chris was able to tie science and history and mythology together in an exciting tale. Definitely a Chris Fox fan. Deathless was great can't wait for the next book this month
